Finding Easy To Win Auctions

Did you ever want to find an “easy-to-win” auction on DealDash.com but had no idea how or where to start looking?

That is what I wanted to do. I only needed one more auction to reach my goal of 1,000 auctions won on DealDash since I first started shopping here in 2012. I was determined to reach that goal on Christmas Day. So I was looking for an “easy-to-win” auction.

A woman is surprised as she bids in online auctions from the comfort of her living room.
Win or lose, online auctions are exciting!

With all of my shopping experience on DealDash I thought it would be easy. Did I achieve my goal? Yes. Was it easy? No. It could have and should have been easy but I made some mistakes.

Mistake Number 1

I did not look in the best place in the first place. What is the best place to look for “easy-to-win” auctions?

I believe the best place to look is in the “featured winners list.” In the end, the auction I ended up winning was listed there all along. That’s where we can see all of the auction products that sold for only one or two bids. If we see the same auction product listed three or more times, we can feel fairly certain that there is a trend for that product to close early.

If we write down the name of the auction item that recently sold early several times, we can verify that information by opening up that auction item and checking all of the previous winners. If we see that auction product sold low six out of the last 10 times we know we could be a winner, too, one of the next six times it closes early. Of course we also know it partly depends on whether or not other high-stakes or power bidders happen to join the same auction, so we have a decision to make.

Did your mother ever tell you to “never put all of your eggs into one basket?” I never understood that quote until after I became an adult. In this case, we have to decide if we are going to put all of our bids into one auction? Perhaps we should do a search on this product and put a portion of our bids into several auctions. Then we could keep an eye on all of our auctions and put the most bids into the auction that appears to have the lowest number of shoppers and the least competition.

Mistake Number 2

I was in an excellent position to win an auction – perhaps, too good of a position. What do I mean by that?

I had just earned a significant amount of bids for completing a Time As Highest Bidder level. Therefore, I had plenty of bids to outbid most other shoppers, and that can be a problem. Whenever we have more than enough bids to win, we often tend to get a little more careless how we use them. Whenever we only have a few bids to shop with we tend to be a lot more careful how we use them and are more motivated to play smart. A large part of “playing smart” is paying close attention and frequently monitoring the auction. But it was Christmas Day! How many people can pay close attention and frequently monitor their auctions with visitors and phone calls?

Mistake Number 3

I got out of a few auctions a little too soon and I might have been the winner if I had hung in there a little longer. In other words, I cancelled my bids in more than one auction that sold within a few bids later.

One thing that fooled me was the sporadic bidder that I have written about before so I should have known better. Many of us might have been one of the last few shoppers. The auction gets down to the wire with only two bidders left and we are one of them. Suddenly, another shopper jumps in. So now we think we might as well save a few bids by allowing those two to battle it out for a while before we jump back in. However, our sporadic new bidder does not stick around long enough to battle it out with our main opponent so our opponent wins the auction.

Bottom Line

I finally did win that much-needed last auction to reach my goal so all is well in my DealDash world. I am thrilled to become part of the elite group of DealDash shoppers who won 1,000 auctions or more. Perhaps you could reach that goal, too.

Win A New Exercise Bike

Did you see the new spinning exercise bike on DealDash.com?  If you ever thought of getting a new exercise bike, now might be the perfect time.

Many people, especially senior citizens, are still concerned about exposing ourselves to the COVID-19 virus in public gyms. By winning an exercise bike on DealDash.com, we can exercise at home and not risk exercising in public places.

An exercise bike turns your home into a fitness center!

This exercise bike on DealDash with a BIN of $1,280.00 was won on Nov. 29, 2021, for only $18.67 counting the cost of the 77 bids used by the winner. What a bargain! In fact, five of six previous winners won it for a lot less than the BIN.

According to the auction description, some of the features of this exercise bike offers are:

  • It has a sturdy 22-pound spinning flywheel
  • It has a compact aerodynamic triangular body, designed to minimize vibrations
  • It has a wide body base offering excellent stability
  • The handlebars, seat, body length and resistance levels can all be adjusted
  • It has easy-to-read digital monitor and handlebar pulse sensors monitoring time, speed, distance, pulse rate and calories burned
  • The pedals are fully adjustable with secure straps to ensure a proper fit and
  • It has a large rack to hold digital devices, plus two cup holders.

New Year’s Resolution

This year is already coming to an end and we will soon start another New Year. What better New Year’s resolution could we make than getting focused on a new exercise program to exercise our way into a better physical condition? Having our own exercise bike at home will help us do just that. Other advantages include:

  • Saving money for gas by not having to drive to a local gym.
  • Being able to exercise in the comfort of our own home also means we will not have to go out on miserable-weather days when it rains or snows.
  • Riding our own exercise bike at home means we could also enjoy watching our favorite TV programs at the same time, and peddling a bike is something nearly anyone can do.

History of exercise bikes

What do you know about the history of indoor exercise bikes?

It surprised me to learn that the first stationary exercise bikes did not become widely available until after I had already graduated from high school.

It is not clear who first invented the stationary bicycle but, according to my research, American chemist Keene Dimick invented the first stationary bicycle equipped with electronics to track his progress exercising in 1968. The Schwinn Company began manufacturing an upright exercise bike in 1967 and unveiled the Airdyne stationary bike in 1978.

Bottom line

DealDash has some more affordable exercise bikes coming up for sale, too, so we can keep our eyes open for them. We could also conduct a search and press the blue “Alert Me” button so we are sure to know when the next auction becomes available.

What better gift could we give to ourselves than better health? Cycling can be exceptionally good for our cardiovascular fitness, as well as toning muscles, improving physique and boosting body image. It can also help to improve the muscle tone of our legs, glutes and core.

Perhaps winning a new exercise bike will put us on the right path to feeling great and making 2022 our best year ever!

DealDash Donates To Charity

One of the best things about shopping on DealDash.com is that a lot of the money we spend is donated to good causes.

During DealDash’s Welcome 2021 sale, DealDash donated 1 meal for every purchase made. It is important to remember that the holidays are the season to give to others and help those in need. And throughout the years DealDash has to supported organizations like Firehouse Subs, the American Red Cross, and Disabled American Veterans.

Remember to act compassionately and help those in need.

Therefore, we can be proud to support a shopping site like this. In fact, DealDash really sets a good example of what each and every one of us should do, especially during the holiday season.

Donate Money

This is the time of year we should open our hearts, check books and wallets and make donations to help others in need. Some worthy charities we could donate to include:

  • The states that were recently destroyed by multiple tornados. Many people lost their lives and homes. We can donate through the American Red Cross or directly to the KSR Tornado Relief Fund;
  • Firefighters;
  • Veterans;
  • St. Jude’s hospital, which provides free care for children with cancer.

Donate food or clothing

I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated if we would:

  • Bring cookies, pies or cakes to an elderly or physically challenged people.
  • Give food and clothing to homeless people.

I was told the greatest need homeless people now have is for socks to keep their feet warm. I’m sure extra coats and blankets may be needed, too.

Some DealDash customers opt to donate goods they buy on DealDash for a discount, and many times DealDash has matched these donations from excess inventory. For example these bundles of socks will make a great donation!

Donate time to give a helping hand

If we are not financially able donate to charity, we can still find other ways to help others. Here are some examples of what we could do to brighten the holidays for someone in need and make our world a better place one step at a time, in one way or another:

  • Donate some of our time to an elderly person who lives alone. Sometimes just a friendly visit could mean the world to them;
  • Help a sick or injured neighbor by doing some of their household chores for them;
  • Shovel snow from the sidewalks and/or driveway of an elderly or physically challenged neighbor;
  • Do grocery shopping for an elderly or injured person who has a difficult time getting around;
  • Offer to read Christmas stories to people who are blind.

We do not have to look far to find someone in need. My mother often said, “What goes around comes around” and “What we reap, we sow.” When I was a child, I did not fully understand what that meant.

Now, as an adult, I learned that sometimes in the process of helping others we end up helping ourselves even more. Karma has a way of coming back to us.

My wish for 2022 is that we become more united by treating others the way we, ourselves, wish to be treated. Wouldn’t it be nice if we were all surrounded by angels on earth–neighbors helping neighbors and strangers helping strangers? If everyone did that, what a lovely world this would be.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Unique Christmas Ornaments

Are you still using the same ornaments on your Christmas tree that you bought a few decades ago? If so, then perhaps it’s time for a change. How about some new and updated tree ornaments from DealDash!

There is nothing wrong with keeping some ornaments that have been passed down from a previous generation or two and a few ornaments that will always have a special meaning to us. Nonetheless, it might also be a good idea to make our holidays sparkle with some fresh, new Christmas tree ornaments, too.

Christmas ornaments hang ready to decorate your tree!
Ornaments classically come in red, silver, gold, or green. But there are many more types, too!

Our favorite shopping site has several auctions of unique, decorative bulbs that we can’t find in local shops. These special decorations will have all of our family members and visitors asking, “Where on earth did you get such lovely holiday ornaments?”

The First Noel Ornaments

This auction consists of four First Noel Ornaments has a BIN of $225.00, but it just sold today for one penny. That shopper happened to be in the right auction at the right time, and the next time that happens it could be me or you. How exciting is that?

While these ornaments might be traditional-looking baubles at first glance, each one has a unique design in a predominantly green color that will enhance the overall appearance of our Christmas tree. I especially like the ones designed with little gold beads and the one with holly and a beautiful red Poinsettia – the official Christmas flower.

Winter Fantasy Ornaments

This auction features four beautifully crafted Christmas unique baubles that has a BIN of $215.00 but this set sold for as little as 65 cents, counting the cost of bids. What a bargain!

Even if we have no snow on the ground, this sophisticated selection of ornaments will no doubt give us a feeling of falling snow flakes during the winter season.

These ornaments also received a very high rating from all previous winners.

Sugar and Sparkle Ornaments

Did you ever see an ornament shaped like a donut? You can now!

This set of four sparkle ornaments has a BIN of $225.00 but it looks like they are fairly easy to win.  In fact, from Nov. 12 to Dec. 11, ten previous winners paid less than $2.00. We could never beat bargains like this.

Treasure Trove Ornament

This auction features a single, extra special ornament – the Treasure Trove Ornament. This ornament, which has a BIN of $145.00, has sold for as little as 81 cents counting the cost of bids.

What makes this ornament so extraordinary?  Not only is it embellished with jewels and glitter on the outside but it actually can be opened at the golden ring in the center to a hollow core. In other words, we could place a special treasure inside of the bulb.

Imagine what an awesome surprise it would be if a young man might hide an engagement ring inside and just wait for a special moment to reveal it to his fiancée. That indeed would be a treasured moment that would never be forgotten.

So far, past winners have given this ornament a very high overall rating. One former winner wrote that she plans to give it to her nephew and wife and she believes it will become a family heirloom. How special is that?

Ornament Family Traditions

I had an ornament family tradition that still brings back fond memories. As a family, I took my sons ornament shopping. Each year we each selected one new ornament we liked to add to our tree.

Perhaps you could start a special ornament tradition, too that starts with shopping for ornaments on DealDash.com!
