Do you want to make a sports fan in your family more than happy – like to the moon and back happy? Thanks to DealDash.com now you can!

Did you see the autographed sports memorabilia up for auction on DealDash.com? Name your favorite team – Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, Oakland Athletics, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Dodgers or perhaps the Chicago Cubs. You name it and you just may be able to find the autographed sports item of your dreams.

I see auctions for a football helmet, baseballs, bats and even sports clothing, including replica jersey tops. Let’s take a look at some of these items.

Autographed baseballs

How about an autographed baseball? Who are your favorite players? DealDash has several different autographed baseballs from a wide variety of teams and players.

The BIN varies and runs from $90 to $300 depending on the team and the signature. The most common BIN price tags are $130 and $250.  Some previous winners have gotten some fantastic deals, too. On June 24, one winner paid only 52 cents including the cost of the 2 bids placed.

Did you know that the history of baseball goes back a long way? According to my research, baseball began around the mid-1800s by Abner Doubleday in Cooperstown, New York.

The first official game of baseball took place in 1846 in Hoboken, New Jersey. However, the first professional baseball team that was established was in Cincinnati, and they were called the Red Stockings.

An autographed football helmet

Perhaps you have a son who is a huge football fan. How about the Las Vegas Raiders?

This football helmet has a BIN of $750 but several past winners got it for much less than that.

  • June 18, this autographed football helmet sold at $1.63 and the winner paid a total of $10.63 including the cost of the 45 bids placed;
  • June 23, this autographed football helmet sold at $2.35 and the winner paid a total of $$18.75 including the cost of the 82 bids placed.
  • June 20, this autographed football helmet sold at $8.51 and the winner paid a total of $25.33 including the cost of the 116 bids placed.

This authentic helmet with multiple inscriptions and hand-signed autograph is part of a limited edition of 20. For more detailed information, see the auction description.

More about the game of football

According to my research, in 1823 during a school football match, a student named William Webb Ellis is said to have first picked up the ball and run with it, and thus he created a new style of play, where picking the ball up and running with it was preferred over kicking it.

On Nov. 6, 1869, Rutgers and Princeton played the first ever a college soccer football game. The game used modified London Football Association rules. During the next seven years, rugby gained favor with the major eastern schools over soccer, and modern football began to develop from rugby.
