New Year, New Bedding

Did you make a New Year’s Resolution? My New Year’s Resolution is to get a good night’s sleep for better health. What better way to do that than to sleep on luxury soft sheets and comfortable pillows?

January is usually the best month of the year to shop for new bedding. That’s when major department stores usually put bedding on sale. However, if you want some new high-quality luxury sheets, comforters, blankets or pillows DealDash.com is the best place to shop.

A luxury bed awaits its lucky owner.
Perhaps 2022 is the year when you upgrade your bedroom!

Besides finding bedding in a wide variety of brands and sizes (twin, full, queen and king) many DealDash shoppers won awesome bargains on new bedding, including me.

Let’s take a look at some examples:

Luxury sheets

  • A midnight blue queen-size sheet set is made of 100 percent brushed microfiber and consists of a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and two queen pillow cases. Again, 9 of the last 10 winners received an awesome bargain. This set has a BIN of $170 but one winner got it for as little as $2.03 (counting the cost of bids), and another winner got it for only $2.41 (counting the cost of bids). We could never get a deal like that if we shopped in a regular department store.
  • A gray full-size checkered embossed sheet set is made from 100 percent imported 95 GSM microfiber and includes a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and two standard pillow cases.  So far, the last five times this sheet set has gone up for auction five times and all five previous winners won it for less than the BIN of $90. In fact, one winner got it for only $3.81 (counting the cost of the 4 bids used). Of the 18 reviews received so far, this sheet set received an overall rating of 4.93 out of a possible 5.0.

Comforters

  • A reversible Full/Queen-size comforter set (with a BIN of $130) is now up for auction. Looking at the last 10 winners (as of the time of this writing), 9 of the 10 won this comforter set at a huge discount. In fact, one winner got it for only $7.61 (counting the cost of bid) and another DealDash customer won it for only $8.51 (counting the cost of bids). Thirty customers gave this comforter set an overall rating of 4.9 out of a possible 5.0, which is exceptionally high. We could not get much better than that.
  • A white super plush down fiber comforter in King/CalKing has a BIN of $120. However, it recently sold for as low as $30.79 (counting the cost of bids). This all-season down-alternative comforter has a light-weight shell which provides exceptional softness and drape but it is evenly-filled for superior warmth. Another great feature is that it is hypoallergenic so it is perfect for allergy sufferers. This 108-inch by 94-inch comforter has received a whopping 2,810 reviews from former winners and earned an overall rating of 4.81 out of a possible 5.0. That confirms it is a high-quality product.

Pillows

Have you ever tried sleeping on a memory foam pillow? DealDash frequently offers these pillows for auction. These pillows have a BIN of $410 but out of the last 10 winners all 10 of them won this pillow for much less. In fact, on Dec. 30, 2021, a shopper won it for a total of $2.04 (including the cost of the 8 bids used to win it). We sure cannot find a bargain like that in any department store.

Easy to win

As we can see from some of the many incredible bargains past winners received these bedding auctions might also be some of the easiest auctions to win.

For more details read the auction descriptions. We could also shop for an “8-Piece Bed in a Bag” auction and/or other linen-bundle options. DealDash even has mattresses and mattress toppers. Therefore, we need not look elsewhere for our bedding needs.

Happy New Year and I hope we all win many more DealDash auctions in 2022!

Training Aids For Newbies

Did you ever get irritated with new shoppers who do not yet understand how DealDash.com works? You know the ones – the ones who might not bid like you would or use BidBuddy. Well, I have great news for you.

That issue is no longer an issue because DealDash recently took major steps to fix it. New shoppers now have special training aids to learn how DealDash works.

Wooden blocks spell out, ''helpful tips''.
DealDash is already fun. but some helpful tips can make it even better!

When I joined DealDash 10 years ago I learned how DealDash differs from other penny-auction sites by calling customer service and asking questions. DealDash always had plenty of training information available but now Newbies no longer have to go looking for it. Instead, you might say it looks for them.

Here’s how it works:

A popup note appears saying, “Welcome to DealDash. Bidding on DealDash is different than on other auction sites. Learn the basics of placing bids and using tools like BidBuddy to help you win more auctions.”

Next, the Newbies see a tutorial bid pack consisting of 10 practice bids that appears separately from the live auction. Then the Newbie can see another popup note saying, “Let’s add 5 bids to BidBuddy so that it can automatically place bids for us at the optimal time.” The new shoppers see an arrow pointing down saying, “Type in the number here and click BidBuddy.”

How awesome is that? These easy to understand popup training aids for new members are geared to help them get off to a good start. I never before saw another penny-auction site that provides more training aids and information on how to win auctions than DealDash. Nobody, not even Newbies, have any reason not to know whatever it is that they need to know to win auctions.

In addition to training aids, DealDash provides many other sources to learn how to play smart.

Other winning tips

When I was a new shopper I learned a lot by simply watching how other experienced shoppers play. At first, most DealDash shoppers appeared to be here to win products at a bargain price that they otherwise could not afford at the full retail price.

Now, however, I see many wealthy people, like doctors, lawyers and engineers, who are shopping on DealDash, too. Some of these shoppers could obviously afford to buy just about anything they want at full retail price. So why are they here? Most likely some rich people get bored and they shop here just to have fun. We all know that DealDash is a fun way to shop.

What does that mean for the rest of us? In a nutshell, I pay attention to the screen names and make a list of three different kinds of shoppers:

  1. Regular shoppers like me looking for a bargain
  2. Shoppers who don’t count their bids and who are just here to have fun
  3. Shoppers who frequently overbid.

To win a bargain, I try to avoid shopping in the same auctions as the screen names I put in Category 2 or 3.

If you are new to DealDash and do not yet have a list of screen names to avoid, a quick and easy way to make a list that works is to look at the “Winner’s List” and write down the screen names of shoppers who won two or more auctions on the same day. Most likely they are the power players. In other words, if we are in the little league we don’t want to play with the big league.

Another source of information includes the weekly blogs that DealDash so graciously allows me to share here at: www.http:/DealDashtips.com. Some DealDash shoppers who read these winning tips soon become my strongest opponents. No problem. I already won more than 1,000 auctions so I’m still a happy shopper.

Ergonomic Kneeling Chair

Did you see the Ergonomic Kneeling Chair on DealDash.com?

This auction product really caught my attention because I bought two Ergonomic Kneeling Chairs like this about 40 years ago for my sons and I have been looking for  more chairs like this ever since.

As a previous owner of chairs like this, I can tell you it was one of the best purchases I ever made because it did wonders to improve the posture of my two sons. It really bothered me when I saw them all hunched over while watching TV or working on their computer. I knew that was not good. I wanted to find a way for them to correct their posture and this ergonomic chair does that.

Two hands hold a small sign that advertise ergonomic design.
Two hands hold upDo you own any ergonomically designed products?

Ergonomic Kneeling Chairs like this one naturally straightens out the user’s back and keeps our spine and core aligned in an upright position, ensuring the user will have better posture. At the same time, most young children do not mind using these chairs because they are different, easy and fun to use.

After buying Christmas gifts for our family and friends, many of us might have a tight budget, but there’s no need to fret over the BIN of $831 because we not have the opportunity to win this chair at an awesome bargain price. In fact, all of the last seven winners won it at a fantastic bargain price – all for less than $55 and one winner paid a total price (including the cost of bids) of only $19.69.

Easy To Assemble

This chair, which is made of solid wood and soft olive green PU leather with supportive padding, is quick and easy to assemble and even comes with all the tools needed. It holds up to 250 pounds and measures 32-inches in length by 18-inches wide and 20-inches high.

For more specific details, click on the auction and read the DealDash description.

History of the ergon chair

According to my research, Herman Miller designed the first Ergon Chair and Bill Stumpf created it in 1976. The Ergon Chair was the first chair invented with the motive of improving comfort for the human body and sustaining physical health.

The chairs are designed to place the user in a sitting position that angles the thighs between 60 and 70 degrees instead of the normal 90-degree sitting position most chairs have. Kneeling chairs decrease the pressure on the facet joints, which are the joints in your spine that make your back flexible. Therefore, you lessen the risk of lower back pain. Chiropractors recommend kneeling chairs because they help your body maintain its natural curvature of the spine. Kneeling also activates core muscles, which supports your back.

My research showed that tall people might not find the kneeling chair as comfortable as others because of lack of leg room. This, of course, would not be a problem for children or adults who do not require extra leg room and/or do not have health issues with their knees.

Overall, kneeling chairs have received overwhelmingly positive feedback.

Happy New Year and I’ll see you in the auctions!

Finding Easy To Win Auctions

Did you ever want to find an “easy-to-win” auction on DealDash.com but had no idea how or where to start looking?

That is what I wanted to do. I only needed one more auction to reach my goal of 1,000 auctions won on DealDash since I first started shopping here in 2012. I was determined to reach that goal on Christmas Day. So I was looking for an “easy-to-win” auction.

A woman is surprised as she bids in online auctions from the comfort of her living room.
Win or lose, online auctions are exciting!

With all of my shopping experience on DealDash I thought it would be easy. Did I achieve my goal? Yes. Was it easy? No. It could have and should have been easy but I made some mistakes.

Mistake Number 1

I did not look in the best place in the first place. What is the best place to look for “easy-to-win” auctions?

I believe the best place to look is in the “featured winners list.” In the end, the auction I ended up winning was listed there all along. That’s where we can see all of the auction products that sold for only one or two bids. If we see the same auction product listed three or more times, we can feel fairly certain that there is a trend for that product to close early.

If we write down the name of the auction item that recently sold early several times, we can verify that information by opening up that auction item and checking all of the previous winners. If we see that auction product sold low six out of the last 10 times we know we could be a winner, too, one of the next six times it closes early. Of course we also know it partly depends on whether or not other high-stakes or power bidders happen to join the same auction, so we have a decision to make.

Did your mother ever tell you to “never put all of your eggs into one basket?” I never understood that quote until after I became an adult. In this case, we have to decide if we are going to put all of our bids into one auction? Perhaps we should do a search on this product and put a portion of our bids into several auctions. Then we could keep an eye on all of our auctions and put the most bids into the auction that appears to have the lowest number of shoppers and the least competition.

Mistake Number 2

I was in an excellent position to win an auction – perhaps, too good of a position. What do I mean by that?

I had just earned a significant amount of bids for completing a Time As Highest Bidder level. Therefore, I had plenty of bids to outbid most other shoppers, and that can be a problem. Whenever we have more than enough bids to win, we often tend to get a little more careless how we use them. Whenever we only have a few bids to shop with we tend to be a lot more careful how we use them and are more motivated to play smart. A large part of “playing smart” is paying close attention and frequently monitoring the auction. But it was Christmas Day! How many people can pay close attention and frequently monitor their auctions with visitors and phone calls?

Mistake Number 3

I got out of a few auctions a little too soon and I might have been the winner if I had hung in there a little longer. In other words, I cancelled my bids in more than one auction that sold within a few bids later.

One thing that fooled me was the sporadic bidder that I have written about before so I should have known better. Many of us might have been one of the last few shoppers. The auction gets down to the wire with only two bidders left and we are one of them. Suddenly, another shopper jumps in. So now we think we might as well save a few bids by allowing those two to battle it out for a while before we jump back in. However, our sporadic new bidder does not stick around long enough to battle it out with our main opponent so our opponent wins the auction.

Bottom Line

I finally did win that much-needed last auction to reach my goal so all is well in my DealDash world. I am thrilled to become part of the elite group of DealDash shoppers who won 1,000 auctions or more. Perhaps you could reach that goal, too.
