DealDash Donates To Charity

One of the best things about shopping on DealDash.com is that a lot of the money we spend is donated to good causes.

During DealDash’s Welcome 2021 sale, DealDash donated 1 meal for every purchase made. It is important to remember that the holidays are the season to give to others and help those in need. And throughout the years DealDash has to supported organizations like Firehouse Subs, the American Red Cross, and Disabled American Veterans.

Remember to act compassionately and help those in need.

Therefore, we can be proud to support a shopping site like this. In fact, DealDash really sets a good example of what each and every one of us should do, especially during the holiday season.

Donate Money

This is the time of year we should open our hearts, check books and wallets and make donations to help others in need. Some worthy charities we could donate to include:

  • The states that were recently destroyed by multiple tornados. Many people lost their lives and homes. We can donate through the American Red Cross or directly to the KSR Tornado Relief Fund;
  • Firefighters;
  • Veterans;
  • St. Jude’s hospital, which provides free care for children with cancer.

Donate food or clothing

I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated if we would:

  • Bring cookies, pies or cakes to an elderly or physically challenged people.
  • Give food and clothing to homeless people.

I was told the greatest need homeless people now have is for socks to keep their feet warm. I’m sure extra coats and blankets may be needed, too.

Some DealDash customers opt to donate goods they buy on DealDash for a discount, and many times DealDash has matched these donations from excess inventory. For example these bundles of socks will make a great donation!

Donate time to give a helping hand

If we are not financially able donate to charity, we can still find other ways to help others. Here are some examples of what we could do to brighten the holidays for someone in need and make our world a better place one step at a time, in one way or another:

  • Donate some of our time to an elderly person who lives alone. Sometimes just a friendly visit could mean the world to them;
  • Help a sick or injured neighbor by doing some of their household chores for them;
  • Shovel snow from the sidewalks and/or driveway of an elderly or physically challenged neighbor;
  • Do grocery shopping for an elderly or injured person who has a difficult time getting around;
  • Offer to read Christmas stories to people who are blind.

We do not have to look far to find someone in need. My mother often said, “What goes around comes around” and “What we reap, we sow.” When I was a child, I did not fully understand what that meant.

Now, as an adult, I learned that sometimes in the process of helping others we end up helping ourselves even more. Karma has a way of coming back to us.

My wish for 2022 is that we become more united by treating others the way we, ourselves, wish to be treated. Wouldn’t it be nice if we were all surrounded by angels on earth–neighbors helping neighbors and strangers helping strangers? If everyone did that, what a lovely world this would be.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Unique Christmas Ornaments

Are you still using the same ornaments on your Christmas tree that you bought a few decades ago? If so, then perhaps it’s time for a change. How about some new and updated tree ornaments from DealDash!

There is nothing wrong with keeping some ornaments that have been passed down from a previous generation or two and a few ornaments that will always have a special meaning to us. Nonetheless, it might also be a good idea to make our holidays sparkle with some fresh, new Christmas tree ornaments, too.

Christmas ornaments hang ready to decorate your tree!
Ornaments classically come in red, silver, gold, or green. But there are many more types, too!

Our favorite shopping site has several auctions of unique, decorative bulbs that we can’t find in local shops. These special decorations will have all of our family members and visitors asking, “Where on earth did you get such lovely holiday ornaments?”

The First Noel Ornaments

This auction consists of four First Noel Ornaments has a BIN of $225.00, but it just sold today for one penny. That shopper happened to be in the right auction at the right time, and the next time that happens it could be me or you. How exciting is that?

While these ornaments might be traditional-looking baubles at first glance, each one has a unique design in a predominantly green color that will enhance the overall appearance of our Christmas tree. I especially like the ones designed with little gold beads and the one with holly and a beautiful red Poinsettia – the official Christmas flower.

Winter Fantasy Ornaments

This auction features four beautifully crafted Christmas unique baubles that has a BIN of $215.00 but this set sold for as little as 65 cents, counting the cost of bids. What a bargain!

Even if we have no snow on the ground, this sophisticated selection of ornaments will no doubt give us a feeling of falling snow flakes during the winter season.

These ornaments also received a very high rating from all previous winners.

Sugar and Sparkle Ornaments

Did you ever see an ornament shaped like a donut? You can now!

This set of four sparkle ornaments has a BIN of $225.00 but it looks like they are fairly easy to win.  In fact, from Nov. 12 to Dec. 11, ten previous winners paid less than $2.00. We could never beat bargains like this.

Treasure Trove Ornament

This auction features a single, extra special ornament – the Treasure Trove Ornament. This ornament, which has a BIN of $145.00, has sold for as little as 81 cents counting the cost of bids.

What makes this ornament so extraordinary?  Not only is it embellished with jewels and glitter on the outside but it actually can be opened at the golden ring in the center to a hollow core. In other words, we could place a special treasure inside of the bulb.

Imagine what an awesome surprise it would be if a young man might hide an engagement ring inside and just wait for a special moment to reveal it to his fiancée. That indeed would be a treasured moment that would never be forgotten.

So far, past winners have given this ornament a very high overall rating. One former winner wrote that she plans to give it to her nephew and wife and she believes it will become a family heirloom. How special is that?

Ornament Family Traditions

I had an ornament family tradition that still brings back fond memories. As a family, I took my sons ornament shopping. Each year we each selected one new ornament we liked to add to our tree.

Perhaps you could start a special ornament tradition, too that starts with shopping for ornaments on DealDash.com!

Gifts For Pets

Do you want to give your pet a nice Christmas gift, too?

Then you are shopping in the right place because DealDash.com has the perfect pet bed and other products that your pets will be sure to love.

Collapsible Cat Cube

 This cat bed, which measures 15.7 x 15.7 x 15.3, is comfortable and unique because it can be used in more than one way. When raised up in its full-sized cube shape, your cat can enjoy a more protected and private hide-away with a small opening to peek out. However, if your cat prefers to be in more open spaces, this cube bed can fold down so your cat can snooze away on top of it instead.

A pet owner gives a Christmas gift to their pet cat.
Make sure to get your pets some gifts this year, too. They deserve it!

Best of all, this polypropylene and polyester cat bed is machine washable in cold water. It might be difficult to find a better cat bed than that.

If you don’t win you can BIN this cat bed for $180.00. Looking at past winners, however, most of them won it for a pretty good bargain price. One winner got it for only $14.65 including the cost of using 49 bids.

Climbing Tree for Cats

DealDash also has a climbing tree for cats, with dimensions of 27.5 inches x 15.7 inches x 51.5 inches high. This climbing tree has several landing perches, multi-level scratching posts, four swat track balls and a climbing ladder. This would be sure to provide many hours of entertainment for your cat.

Looking at recent past winners, a couple DealDash shoppers won this climbing tree, with a BIN of $620.00 for less than $30.00. What an awesome bargain!

For more details, do a search and read the auction description.

Water and Food Bowls

DealDash offers many water and food bowl auctions for both dogs and cats. The medium and large slow feed dog bowls are made of naturally cooling ceramics so we don’t need a refrigerator to keep our dog or cat’s food and water cool. If we put the dish in cool water for a few minutes before use this pet dish will keep the food fresh and cool throughout the day.

Many of these bowls that BIN for $50 to $72 have sold for less than $1. Pet owners can’t beat a deal like that!

History of Dog Beds

According to my research, Eugene Kruck, of Huntington Station, New York patented the first dog bed in 1954, only 67 years ago.

Like people, dogs need a good night’s rest to stay healthy. This is especially important for older dogs and larger breeds that need more sleep than younger, smaller dogs. Unlike the floor, a bed will keep dogs warm and will also support arthritic joints and prevent calluses. Well-rested pets will have more energy, and the size of the dog bed might make a difference, too. Smaller dogs need to be able to stretch out, but they also need to feel safe and snug, so a dog bed that is much too large might make it difficult for the dog to settle.

Pet experts say dogs need beds of their own just like people do. It provides a place where they can retreat to when your pet needs time by himself. It also provides a place for our dogs to sleep so they do not sleep where we don’t want them to sleep – like on our sofa or in our bed. If a dog chooses to sleep on the floor instead of its own bed, it might be because its bed is a little too hot or too cold. We might have to move the dog’s bed to a different location.

Most dogs prefer soft but firm beds. Some might prefer the fluffiness of a pillow but most dogs do not need a pillow. In winter months, however, dogs might need a blanket. Just because they have fur does not mean they do not get cold.

Bottom Line

Don’t forget to shop for your pets. After all, they are an important part of your family, too.

Twelve Days Of DealDash

“On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me a partridge in a pear tree …” Are you familiar with all of the lyrics to this song?

“The 12 Days of Christmas” has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs ever since I was a child. It was a bit of a challenge to remember what “my true love gave to me” on all 12 days, but I loved the lyrics.

A red logo with a pretty bird promotes the 12 Days of Christmas.

Well, guess what?  Now we can enjoy “The 12 Days of Christmas Shopping on DealDash.com.”  Starting on Dec. 12, DealDash will offer a special feature for each of the 12 days, which runs until Dec. 23.

I am marking my calendar because I do not want to miss these exciting 12 days of shopping.

History of the Twelve Days of Christmas

According to my research, a count of exactly 12 days from Dec. 25 would end Jan. 5. The Church of England considers this day to be Twelfth Night, and the day of Epiphany, when the three wise men came, is the day after on Jan. 6.

Some families today still celebrate the 12 days of Christmas by enjoying various family traditions and/or activities together.  They may host an Epiphany party to celebrate the visit of the magi (three kings) or they may set aside a special family day together looking through Christmas cards, singing “The 12 Days of Christmas” or playing games like “Name that Christmas Carol.” Some families might even open one gift each day for the 12 days.

It’s interesting to do a little research to learn a little more about the season. Did you know the Statue of Liberty, which France gave to the United States in 1886, is the world’s largest Christmas gift?  At 151 feet, 1 inch high and weighing in at 225 tons, that is one record that might never be beat.

One record we all could beat, however, is going for a record number of auction wins during the 12 Days of Christmas Shopping on DealDash.

Merry Christmas everyone!
