DealDash Tips for Confident Bidding

dealdash

Confidence is a great trait to have. Here are some tips from DealDash on becoming a confident bidder.

There’s a difference between being a confident bidder and being a shy or timid bidder. A confident bidder goes into every auction hoping to win but preparing to lose, and has a game plan to get their bids back. A shy or timid bidder just throws in a few bids here and there and hopes that they win. Confidence is important to have in life as well as when participating in DealDash auctions. Here are some tips and tricks from DealDash to get you started on your way to confident bidding.

Show The Room Who’s Boss

When you enter into a DealDash auction do you just put in one bid and then sit there and wait to see what happens? While you can do that, I find that putting multiple bids into your BidBuddy is a better strategy. When you put a number of bids into your BidBuddy then your BidBuddy can take its place in line with the other BidBuddies. When other bidders in the room see that your BidBuddy has been bidding in line with the other BidBuddies, then they know that you mean business, that you’re a confident bidder. No one fears a timid bidder who only bids once here and there. They know that you’ll be easy to beat.

Fill Out Your Bidder Bio with Confidence

Have you filled out your bidder bio yet? It’s the little blurb that you can write about yourself when you are filling out your bidder profile. Now, be nice and polite, but also be confident! Mean and nasty rude bidder bios are taken down, but you don’t have to be rude to get your point across that you’re a confident bidder who’s here to win some auctions.

Be Confident, There’s Always BIN

There’s no need to be a timid bidder. As long as you are bidding on things that you are willing to buy if you lose, then there’s nothing to be timid or shy about at all. There’s no need to be worried that you will lose all of your bids, because you can always get them back when you use the BIN (Buy It Now) feature on DealDash. The BIN feature lets otherwise timid and unsure bidders be confident in their risk-taking. DealDash is completely risk-free if you’re willing to BIN the item if you don’t win.

DealDash Tips: Want Versus Need

When you go to the DealDash.com home page and see all the awesome products up for auction, it could be overwhelming and a bit difficult to decide which auctions to play.

When I first started playing on DealDash, I found myself bidding on all sorts of things that I did not really need and did not end up using. It was just so much fun that I did not give much thought to what I should or should not try to win. However, that was not very smart on my part, and if I had a chance to go back to the beginning and do it over again, I would have played a lot smarter.

Perhaps the best way to make wise choices and play smart is to separate your “wants” from your “needs.” Before you start bidding, ask yourself these questions:

  • Is this item something I just want or something I really need?
  • Is this item something I would go to a store to buy?
  • If I were to win this auction, would I actually use this item?
  • If I do not win this auction, could I afford to Buy-It-Now and get all my bids back free?
  • Is this item something I could give to family members or friends as a birthday, anniversary, graduation or Christmas gift?

If you separate your “wants” from your “needs,” you will make much better choices and save a lot of money. The last thing you will want to do is what I did—got a closet full of wonderful products that I never use, just taking up space.

DealDash Tips to Win Mother’s Day

dealdash tips mothers day

Mother’s Day will be on Sunday, May 14th this year. You have approximately 2 weeks to get the lovely lady in your life a nice present. DealDash has some tips for you.

What does your mom, wife, aunt, or grandma enjoy doing? There are so many different ladies out there, and they are each special in their own way. Perhaps your mom loves art, and your wife doesn’t care about art but loves to go out to eat. DealDash has something for each of the special ladies in your life.

Pampering Items

Not all – but most – ladies enjoy pampering items. These items can include things like back and foot massagers, candles, and beauty treatments. Pampering items can also include things like perfume. Not every woman loves perfume, but many do. And the ones that love perfume tend to wear it every day, so they go through it pretty quickly.

Clothing and Bags

If a lot of women enjoy pampering items, even more women enjoy clothing and bags. DealDash has recently started offering not only clothing, but also ladies’ purses, wallets, and laptop bags. Wouldn’t your mother or wife be so surprised to be gifted with such an amazing present as a new purse? She would love it! Luckily, you can win one on DealDash for an amazing deal.

Jewelry and Watches

Do you know what kind of jewelry that the lady in your life likes to wear? You probably can’t go wrong with a beautiful necklace. Even if your favorite female doesn’t wear necklaces every day she most likely wears one on special occasions or date nights. Earrings can make a lovely gift as well, just be sure that the recipient of the gift has pierced ears!

Gift Cards for All Occasions

No matter what the lady in your life enjoys, DealDash has a gift card for that. DealDash offers restaurant gift cards, big box store cards, gas gift cards, and specialty retailer cards as well. There are gift cards of different denominations from $10 to $500! Some of these gift cards are bundled with bids, and some aren’t. If you wanted to make sure that your mom has an excellent day, why not make her up a bundle of gift cards that include all of her favorite things?

Buy It Now – BIN IT!

Now, your mom loves you and doesn’t want you to waste your money. So when you are bidding on an item and are certain that you aren’t going to win but you have already used a lot of bids on it, then you can BIN it. BIN means that you pay the retail price of the item or the face value of the gift card, and DealDash will return all of the bids that you used on the item. They will also ship it to you for free. It’s a great way to bid on the items you want, but have the safety net of getting your bids back.

DealDash Tips: Lessons Learned

After shopping at DealDash.com since Feb. 8, 2012, I’ve learned some important lessons that I wish someone had shared with me when I was a Newbie.

Below are some of the most important lessons I learned:

  • Make a monthly budget. Decide how many bids you will buy for the month and how much money you can afford to spend. Write it down and stick with it.
  • Before bidding, watch and learn to recognize the screen names of the power bidders. If you see one or more in the same auction, cancel your bids and wait until your product comes up for auction again.
  • Only bid in auctions if the product is something you would go to a store to buy. It is so exciting and fun to play on DealDash that it is easy to get carried away and start bidding on items that we do not really need and will never use.
  • Only bid in auctions you can afford to BIN (Buy-It-Now) at retail if you do not win. Then you will get all of your bids back free to use in another auction.
  • Only bid in one or two auctions at the same time. Initially, it’s okay to put a bid on several auctions so you do not get locked out. Then watch and choose only one or two that you might have the best chance to win. If you place the bulk of your bids on only one or two auctions, you will have a much better chance of winning.

It is exciting and fun whenever we win, but we must remember to be responsible shoppers and not get too carried away. As long as we follow these five lessons, we will all have a happy and positive DealDash shopping experience.
