Question: What does Father’s Day and DealDash.com have in common?
Answer: DealDash is a great place to shop for awesome Father’s Day gifts.
I already suggested a sander with cast iron base, a men’s silk neck tie, cologne for men, and a digital electric smoker. What else could I find that would make an awesome Father’s Day gift? I could answer that question with another question: What do most men love to do most in their spare time? Answer: Play golf, of course. And what do men need besides golf clubs when they play? How about some snazzy and comfortable golf shirts?
Guess what? DealDash has the perfect auction that fills that need.
Men’s Golf Shirts
Yes, that’s right. This auction (with a BIN of $108) includes a full set of 4 men’s golf shirts in an assortment of 4 different colors – black, navy, slate blue and sage. These waffle knit golf shirts are constructed of 6.3-ouncs of 100 percent polyester, and features the Ultra Cool system to control and manage perspiration. According to the auction description, they are “accented with a narrow 3-button placket, self-fabric collar and cuffs and a square bottom with side vents.” They also have a Khaki contrast piping along the inner back neck.
These shirts measure 27.5- inches in the chest, 23.5-inch sleeve length and 32.5-inches in body length.
After 20 customer reviews, these golf shirts received an overall rating of 4.94 out of a possible 5.0. One previous winner wrote: “My hubby loves these shirts.” Other winners wrote, “Wow! My husband loved them. (They are) true to size…” and “Great looking shirts.”
With positive feedback like that I decided to shop for these shirts as a gift for the special man in my life even though he has never been a father. He is learning how to play golf, though.
A Brief History of Father’s Day
America was the first country to celebrate Father’s Day.
The first Father’s Day was celebrated June 19, 1910, in the state of Washington. However, it was not until 1972 — 58 years after President Woodrow Wilson made Mother’s Day official – the day honoring fathers became a nationwide holiday in the United States.
Sonora Smart Dodd of Spokane, Washington, is usually credited for originating Father’s Day. She got the idea in 1909 while listening to a sermon on Mother’s Day, which was emerging as a holiday. Dodd honored her father at the local YMCA in 1910 to recognize her father, William Jackson Smart, a Civil War veteran and single dad to six children.
Today, Father’s Day is celebrated across the world to honor the contribution of father’s and to celebrate the paternal bonds and the efforts of male parents towards their family and society.
A recent Father’s Day survey shows a slight increase (76 percent) in the number of American’s who will celebrate the holiday, but a decrease in how much will be spent on gifts. The official flower for Father’s Day is a white or red rose. To honor a father who is deceased it is suggested we wear a white rose, whereas we are to honor a father who is still living with a red rose.
Father’s Day falls on the third Sunday of June each year. Father’s Day 2023 will occur on Sunday, June 18.
Now here’s the main question: “What do men want for Father’s Day? According to my research, many dads want some time to themselves while others want power tools, technology, or a nice home-cooked meal. But the main thing most dads want is their families’ love, appreciation, and respect.
