Tips to Understand DealDash Lingo

DealDash has its own lingo that can be a little confusing when you first start out. Let DealDash translate for you.

“What is DealDash, and how does it work?” are among the most common questions that we hear around the DealDash Tips blog. Well, they are easy to answer, and DealDash Tips blog is always willing to help and explain things to newbie DealDashers. DealDash is a fun internet auction site where bidders purchase bids and use them on auctions to win items. If the person doesn’t win the item then they can buy it at the retail price that’s listed on the auction’s page and receive all of their bids back.

DealDash also has its own little lingo that you’ll need to take a quick lesson on before you get started. Don’t worry, there’s nothing too confusing, and you can always come back here to the blog to get clarification by submitting a comment down at the bottom asking for help. Now, on to your lingo lesson.

Winner’s List

The Winner’s List is a very important tab located at the top of your auction home screen. The reason that the Winner’s List is important is by looking at it, you can see if people are getting great deals at that particular moment or not. There are certain days and times where it seems like there are very few awesome deals to be had. Then, there are other days and times where it seems that DealDash is just giving everything away. Do yourself a favor and check out the Winner’s Tab before you start bidding at any given time.

BIN/Buy It Now

As I mentioned above, DealDash offers a “Buy It Now” or “BIN” option on every single auction. BIN means that you have placed bids in a DealDash auction and didn’t win, but you may purchase the item for retail value and receive all of your bids back. BIN is a very common DealDash word, and you will hear and see it around the site very frequently. DealDash is the only pay-to-bid sites that offer a BIN guarantee. The BIN guarantee is an awesome gift from DealDash. In fact, DealDash was actually started by a person who played on one of those “other” auction sites and lost his money with nothing to show for it.

BidBuddy

The BidBuddy is your friend that you will get to know very well as a DealDash bidder. The BidBuddy is DealDash’s automated bidding tool. The BidBuddy is something that you will (or should!) use every time that you bid.The BidBuddy is available on every auction, to every bidder. You can use the BidBuddy for free and book as many BidBuddies as you would like.

The BidBuddy is the way to win auctions on DealDash. The BidBuddy will place bids for you in the last 2-3 seconds of an auction. All active BidBuddies in an auction will alternate bidding until there is only one player left in the auction. You can place any amount of bids in your BidBuddy and adjust the number or cancel it whenever you like. Almost all auctions are won with the BidBuddy.

Winning an auction during the $3 No Jumper Promotion can be a little tricky because there is so much competition, but you can end up with some amazing deals and bargains during this promotion. Read on for some tips, tricks, and ideas from DealDash on how to get some amazing deals during the $3 No Jumper Promotion.

Get Your Bids in Early

Are you familiar with the $3 No Jumper Promotion? This means that you need to place at least 1 bid before the auction price reaches $3. You have to get your bids in early because if you try to wait until the last minute you will be locked out. Many people are watching these auctions and are planning on trying to bid as close to $3 as they can to save their bids. However, not all of these people are going be able to get in. Some of these bidders are going to be locked out. So get your bids in early so you won’t be one of the unlucky bidders to be locked out!

Don’t Just Put ONE Bid In

One thing that you should keep in mind with the $3 No Jumper Promotion is – people often just put in a few bids to get in under the $3 limit, and then don’t return. Or, they might return too late after the auction has already ended at a low price. This is something that you need to keep in mind. It doesn’t matter if it’s a regular day or a special day like the $3 No Jumper Promotion – using the BidBuddy is a must to win. The BidBuddy is a great tool that DealDash gives (free of charge) to all bidders, that you can put in as many or as few bids as you like. You can cancel it or add more bids at any time. Your BidBuddy will alternate bidding with the other BidBuddies that are set until there are no more bids placed from BidBuddies or other bidders, and whoever has the last bid in before the clock runs out is the winner.

Memorial Day is tomorrow!! Memorial Day is a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered. However, did you know that Memorial Day wasn’t always celebrated on the last Monday in May, but rather on May 30? No matter what day that Memorial Day is officially observed on, though, you know that there will be some amazing deals to be had on DealDash!

Memorial Day Facts

Memorial Day didn’t become a Federal holiday until 1971.
It is customary on Memorial Day to fly the flag at half-staff until noon, and then raise it to the top of the staff until sunset.

This is an excellent time to stock up on bids, however, it’s possible that the prices might go even lower tomorrow on actual Memorial Day – You’ll just have to wait and see!

There’s also an excellent DealDash promotion going on right now called “Free Auction Weekend.” This is a bit of a misnomer, though, if you win an auction you will be charged 1 penny. This 1 penny is a transaction fee and applies to all free wins.

Free auction weekends are a great time to get a deal because you can set as many BidBuddies as you like with the number of bids to reach the BIN (Buy It Now) price without having to worry that you will go over the value. Setting a BidBuddy is the only way that you’re going to win auctions with any regularity. The BidBuddy truly is your best buddy when it comes to DealDash auctions!

Tips to Maximize DealDash Wins

Everyone loves to win on DealDash – no one plays to lose, after all! Here are some tips from DealDash to maximize your auction wins.

Have been paying attention to all of the helpful information that all of the DealDash blogs provide? Wait, you didn’t know that there was more to read than just the DealDash Tips blog?! You’re missing out! There are actually three blogs that provide daily information. In addition to this blog, DealDash Tips, there is also DealDash Blog and DealDash Reviewed. Be sure that you are checking out all three of the blogs on a daily basis, you wouldn’t want to miss anything.

Bid Early and Often

If you aren’t checking out DealDash when you get up in the morning, then you aren’t winning as many auctions as you could be. There are definitely fewer bidders participating in the early hours of the morning when compared to the “prime time” bidding hours of around 8PM-Midnight. You might have to set your alarm clock a little earlier in the morning, but it’s totally worth it when you realize how many more auctions that you can win in the early morning.

When I say to bid often, I mean every day. You don’t actually have to place bids every day, but at least check out the site and see what people are bidding on and by checking out the Winner’s Tab you can see when the auctions are closing, and what the final auction fees end up costing. When you bid early and bid often you’re a step ahead of the competition.

Use DealDash Bookmarks and Alerts

When you see an item that is coming up for auction soon but isn’t going to start for a few hours, then bookmarking is the way to go. Bookmarking an auction on DealDash is just one click! Just click on the little outline of a star in the upper right corner of the auction and you’re good to go! The little star will turn solid, and the auction will now be pinned to your DealDash home page. If the auction is further away, then you’ll want to set an alert.

Setting an alert is simple and can be set on absolutely anything in DealDash’s massive inventory. All you have to do is click the button that says “Alert me” and DealDash will send you an email when an auction has been scheduled for this item. DealDash will alert you when the auction is starting within a couple of days, and then again when the auction is starting within a couple of hours.
