Tips to Rule the Roost on DealDash

Ruling the roost means that you’re in control. So are you in control of the DealDash auctions that you’re bidding on?

Being in control of the auctions that you’re bidding on is important if you want to establish yourself as a strong bidder on DealDash. There are certain ways that you can be taken more seriously when you’re bidding. Here are some suggestions from the DealDash Tips Blog.

Bid Early and Often

Many people like to get their bids in early so they aren’t locked out when the auction hits the $5 No Jumper limit. However, many, many people seem to just put in one bid to save their place. Sure, putting in 1 bid to save your place is a good idea. However, an even better idea would be to stick around and keep bidding. This is especially true if there aren’t many people bidding in the auction. If you can establish yourself as a bidder who bids from the beginning and keeps on bidding until the end, then you will be well on your way to ruling the roost.

Let the Stompers Stomp

Stompers are those people who bid directly after you and cheat you out of your “clock time” that you are collecting to get free bids from DealDash. They are extremely annoying and tend to make people quite angry when they do this. I have seen the scenario play out time and time again – a few people will be bidding on an auction, using the BidBuddy so all bidders are getting their allotted clock time. Then in pops a stomper and starts bidding directly after every single person. Usually, one of the “fair” bidders will get upset and try to out-stomp the stomper. This results in both the stomper and the fair bidder to use up lots of bids, get frustrated, and leave the auction.

It makes a lot more sense to simply let your BidBuddy do it’s work and not interfere with the auction. The stomper typically stops stomping after a short while, because they are spending so many more bids than they would if they just used the BidBuddy. For example, if there are 10 bidders in the auction that were taking turns with their BidBuddies, the stomper is using 10 bids to 1 of the other bidder’s bids. So when the other bidders have used 10 bids, the stomper has used 100. This is why it’s a much better plan to just let them stomp, they will tire of it pretty quickly and move on.

If you are the sort of bidder who wants to participate in multiple auctions at once, then you will need to make use of the BidBuddy. You can easily set up the BidBuddy with as many bids as you would like, and you can set up as many different BidBuddies as you have bids. There is no limit to how many BidBuddies you can set up, and there are no limits to how many bids that you enter – other than you have to have them available in your bid bank to use.

Remember, This is Supposed to be Fun

Using DealDash is not supposed to be stressful or a chore – it’s supposed to be fun! I have seen some people get frustrated as they are bidding, but you have to remember that DealDash is shopping entertainment. If you find yourself getting frustrated, then just fill up your BidBuddy as we talked about above, and walk away. The purpose of DealDash is to make your shopping more fun, and if you’re not having fun then you’re better off trying again later.

Use BIN, Always Win

BIN means Buy It Now, and if you use it you will never lose any bids. The way that it works is very simple. If you find yourself in an auction that you will not win, then just hit the button that says “Buy It Now”, pay for the item, and DealDash will return all of the bids that you used on that auction to your bid bank. It’s a way to be sure that you will never run out of bids!

Be Sure That You Have Bids

If you have joined and already spent the initial bid pack that you purchased, then you’ll need to get more. DealDash frequently has sales and promotions going, and they tend to be different every day. You can find out what the bid price of the day is just by signing in and looking at the banner at the top of the main homepage. You can also see if there are any special promotions going on as well. For example, today is 2X Time As The Highest Bidder (TATHB). Tomorrow it could be the same – or different! You just don’t know until you sign in and check.

DealDash Time As The Highest Bidder

When you are the highest bidder in an auction, you will see that there is a little meter at the bottom of your screen that starts filling up with green. For every second that you are the highest bidder, the meter will begin to fill up. Once you have completely filled the meter you will be able to claim free bids from DealDash! No catch, just a reward for bidding.

When you see a promotion that says 2X, 3X, 4X, or sometimes even 5X, that is a special day! That means that for every second that you are the highest bidder you won’t just get 1 second on your meter, you will get 2, 3, 4, or even 5(!) seconds towards your free bids. Hurray for promotions!! You’ll want to bid on things when DealDash has this special promotion, but watch out, there can be some tough competition on these days as well.

Simply add as many bids as you want to use and hit “Book a BidBuddy.” He will bid until you either cancel him or run out of bids. You can always add more bids as well if you would like.
