DealDash Tips to Bid Friendly

DealDash Tips Bid Friendly

DealDash is a friendly place. You don’t need to be the other bidder’s best friend – but it is important that you bid friendly.

Bidding friendly can mean different things to different people, but we’ll just stick with the basics here. Everyone on DealDash is encouraged to be polite and be friendly with the other bidders because we are all one big community. Yes, that community is HUGE, but it’s still a community, and you will run across other bidders frequently, especially if you typically stick to the same bidding categories. Here are some tips for bidding friendly on DealDash.

Start Off Nicely

You’ll want to put your best (polite) foot forward when bidding on DealDash. So be sure that when you register that you pick a friendly or neutral name to be your bidding “handle”. Don’t pick something mean, frightening, or intimidating. This is also the case with your bidder’s bio and your avatar picture. Make sure that all of these things are nice, polite, or neutral. This is a family website, and I know from experience that kids often peer over the grown-up’s shoulders when they are bidding. Please don’t put up any frightening or scary pictures or bidder’s bios. It’s just not nice!

Don’t Be a “Stomper” or a “Jumper”

“Stompers” and “Jumpers” are considered very rude, and definitely not nice. Who in the world are Stompers and Jumpers? When the Stomper bids in an auction, they bid immediately after a person. This is rather rude, most people wait until there are about 2 seconds or so to go – and so does the BidBuddy. The reason that this is considered rude is because this cheats the other people out of their “clock time.”  The Jumper is a bidder who waits until the auction has just about reached the $5 No Jumper limit and places their first bid – it’s especially rude if there are only 2 or 3 people left in the auction. This is rude because the people who have been bidding in the auction all along have used up lots of

The Jumper is a bidder who waits until the auction has just about reached the $5 No Jumper limit and places their first bid – it’s especially rude if there are only 2 or 3 people left in the auction. This is rude because the people who have been bidding in the auction all along have used up lots of bids, and feel that one of them should be the winner instead of someone new who has nothing invested in winning the auction.

Try Not to Get into Stomping Wars

Getting into a stomping war is kind of like being a Stomper times ten. A stomping war is when two people are bidding against each other, and one of them decides that they want the auction to hurry up and finish. They then proceed to stomp on their opponent over and over again. This will work out for them if their opponent is using a BidBuddy and not paying attention, however,  many people who use the BidBuddy (me included!) watch the auctions anyway to monitor how quickly my bids are being used up. If your opponent is watching when you start stomping all over their BidBuddy, well, you’re about to have a stomping war on your hands. Try to avoid this, it really isn’t nice.

DealDash Tips to Understand Other Bidders

DealDash Tips

Understanding other bidders can be a tricky thing to do. Here are some tips, tricks, and ideas for understanding other bidders.

Do you know anyone in “real life” that’s also a DealDash bidder? Perhaps a friend or family member? It’s not unlikely, seeing as how DealDash has over 8 million registered users. Since you probably don’t know many (if any!) of the other bidders, it might be a difficult thing to figure out what they are thinking. Here are some tips and ideas from DealDash for you.

Keep Track of Those Bidders

If you’re a frequent DealDash bidder then you’re going to keep seeing the same bidder names over and over again. This is a great thing! Do you know why? This is a great thing because if you see the same bidders over and over again then you are going to start to recognize them, their bidding philosophy, and their bidding habits. Now you have an assignment.

The absolute smartest thing for you to do is to get a notebook or start an Excel file to keep track of all of these bidders. You will want to take down bidder names that you recognize seeing more than once. If you’re seeing the same bidder name more than once then that means that they are interested in some of the same things that you are bidding on.

You can write down as much information about them that you can discern from their bidding habits. You can write down what price they come in at, how long that you see them bid for, and what price that they stop bidding. After a while, if you see the same person you will be able to establish a bit of a pattern about their bidding. This information will help you in future auctions.

Look at it From Their Point of View

Trying to understand strangers can be really difficult. If you want to win more auctions you need to try to see things from other people’s point of view. This can be very difficult, but if you put your mind to it, you can do it! For example, if you check the Winner’s Tab you might see that someone has just won a pool. If you later see them bidding on pool toys, a pool cleaner, or a pool water tester, then you might as well just back right on out and try again another day. Smart, right? Think about it. Use the tools that DealDash offers you. The Winner’s Tab can be a very valuable tool for you to use.

DealDash Tips for Confident Bidding

dealdash

Confidence is a great trait to have. Here are some tips from DealDash on becoming a confident bidder.

There’s a difference between being a confident bidder and being a shy or timid bidder. A confident bidder goes into every auction hoping to win but preparing to lose, and has a game plan to get their bids back. A shy or timid bidder just throws in a few bids here and there and hopes that they win. Confidence is important to have in life as well as when participating in DealDash auctions. Here are some tips and tricks from DealDash to get you started on your way to confident bidding.

Show The Room Who’s Boss

When you enter into a DealDash auction do you just put in one bid and then sit there and wait to see what happens? While you can do that, I find that putting multiple bids into your BidBuddy is a better strategy. When you put a number of bids into your BidBuddy then your BidBuddy can take its place in line with the other BidBuddies. When other bidders in the room see that your BidBuddy has been bidding in line with the other BidBuddies, then they know that you mean business, that you’re a confident bidder. No one fears a timid bidder who only bids once here and there. They know that you’ll be easy to beat.

Fill Out Your Bidder Bio with Confidence

Have you filled out your bidder bio yet? It’s the little blurb that you can write about yourself when you are filling out your bidder profile. Now, be nice and polite, but also be confident! Mean and nasty rude bidder bios are taken down, but you don’t have to be rude to get your point across that you’re a confident bidder who’s here to win some auctions.

Be Confident, There’s Always BIN

There’s no need to be a timid bidder. As long as you are bidding on things that you are willing to buy if you lose, then there’s nothing to be timid or shy about at all. There’s no need to be worried that you will lose all of your bids, because you can always get them back when you use the BIN (Buy It Now) feature on DealDash. The BIN feature lets otherwise timid and unsure bidders be confident in their risk-taking. DealDash is completely risk-free if you’re willing to BIN the item if you don’t win.

DealDash offers lots of different types and styles of earrings from simple jeweled stud earrings to dangly chandelier-type earrings. There are many different necklaces to choose from, it’s hard to pick one! So don’t pick! Try to win the whole collection.

BIN or WIN, They’re All Beautiful

When it comes to jewelry on DealDash, I have seen people get some amazing deals, as low as ONE PENNY for a $150 necklace. DealDash offers jewelry very frequently, so there are always multiple chances to win jewelry every day. I myself have won a ring from DealDash for under 20 bids and less than $2 final auction fee. I see amazing wins on jewelry every single day on DealDash.

Fear not, though, if you don’t win the jewelry that you covet, you can always BIN (Buy It Now) them. With BIN, if you have bid up to the retail price and are still not going to win the item you can purchase it at the retail price. This price is listed on each and every auction page. After paying for the item all of the bids that you spent on the auction returned to your account.
