New Items Worth Waiting For At DealDash

spring appliancesDealDash puts out new items every day, but some items do not list every day.  For example, you can usually find a new design of a tie, or a new watch design nearly every week.  But, items like a Cappuccino Maker, a Microwave Oven or an Iron are special items that don’t come on the market every day, that makes them special and worth waiting for.

You can figure an everyday item is going to fall into this category.  Most coffee makers, toasters, and mixers are very popular and are usually scheduled weekly.  You can find them in the items listed on the “New Items” tab to see if it’s scheduled or it has an “Alert Me” tab.

hamilton-beach-80If it’s scheduled, you will see the start time, and you can hit the bookmark star.  This will keep the item at the top of your auction page and it will be in your list of bookmarked auctions in your Dashboard. If it’s not scheduled, you will see the “Alert Me” tab on the item and if you click this, DealDash will send you a notice via email when it is about to come on the market.

This is the best way to “wait” for an item.  DealDash sends you an email three days prior, and the day before, and one more when it’s about to go live. You can’t miss it. Having 3 days to plan will give you a chance to buy your bids at the best price.  Check the DealDash Facebook Page to see what the latest sale is.

Popular items are often offered during a Free Wins Event, so someone will walk away with a fantastic prize for one penny!  Keep your favorite items bookmarked and Alerted, you never know when it’s going to come on the market.  You can figure at least once a week for most items, but some are every three days, and big, big prizes like a swimming pool or a hot tub are offered less frequently.

All of those estimates are just that, estimates.  It’s something I’ve observed in the several years I’ve been playing at DealDash.  There are other new items that will be offered every day, they don’t necessarily fall into the “everyday item” category, like art and clocks.  These types of items can be found daily and you can win them with fewer bids than the more rare popular items.

mr coffee-coffeeOf course, that’s not average either because people will bid endlessly on all items, if you don’t get your prize for the price you want, buy it!  Get the bids back and start over with another item.  That’s Entertainment Shopping, and at DealDash, they give you your bids used back if you buy it using their “Buy It Now” option.

So, go shopping, find your favorite items, bookmark and alert them, then wait for the announcement, check the Facebook page for sales, bid and repeat!  It’s so much fun to shop, plan and win with these few bookmarking tips.

The Language at DealDash

If you just started bidding at DealDash, or you’ve been bidding for awhile, and you hear and see all these phrases in the comments section of the auctions where each player has a section they can make a statement to essentially talk to the other players.  Some people just write something short and sweet, others try to intimidate, some talk about giving away their items, we get all that and it’s entertaining, but a lot of players talk about the features of the game and that can be confusing.

Here are a few of the phrases you will encounter and a brief description of what it means.

Auction- A scheduled event to market a single item where each participant places bids until the last bid is placed.

Bids- The currency of the site, you place one bid which raises the price of the item by one penny, and the last player who bids wins.  Bids are generally between .12 cents and .60 cents each, depending on the sale at the moment.

Bid Pack- DealDash sell bids for players to use as currency in the auctions, you decided how much to spend on the bid packs that are sold in packs of 50, 200, 500, 1000 and 2000. You decide how many bids to use in an auction.

Bid Buddy-  The Bid Buddy is a feature provided by DealDash where you can place a set number of bid in the system and the Bid Buddy will bid for you in your turn.  For example, if there are four players, Bid Buddy will automatically bid for your every fourth penny.  If everyone is using the BidBuddy, the auction goes very smoothly until everyone runs out of bids, and the last bid placed is the winner.

Buy It Now- Also known as “Binning” or “BIN”, is when a players bids on an item and doesn’t win, or decides to buy it for any reason, and DealDash will give you the bids back you used trying.  Once you BIN an item you will no longer be able to bid on it. Most players wait until the auction ends, but it’s not necessary. DealDash have fair retail prices comparable to the big box store, and every item is shipped free wether you win it or BIN it.  You have 7 days from the end of the auction to purchase the item, after that it does expire.

Dashboard- The Dashboard has vital information to your account, like, your profile, helpful information about your wins, orders and bidding history.  The dashboard is where you will find your open Buy It Now offers with a timer showing the end of the offer.

Profile- Your profile is the face you present at DealDash, be it an avatar or an actual photo of yourself, the profile includes your user name and a comment to other players.  It define you as a player be careful when setting up your profile, it’s going to be out there for a long time.  You can change your photo and comment, but your username is yours forever.

Winner’s List- This is an active, real-time list of players and what they won, it includes the item, the closing price and your profile photo.  It’s a useful tool, especially to see what’s trending on the site.

It’s very helpful to know these few things when you go to the DealDash site to bid, it takes out the wonder if you’re doing it right, and gives you the “know” to go!

DealDash: Half a Dozen Prizes in Six Hours

It’s true!  It’s so easy to win at DealDash and with the No Limit on Wins, you can win as much as you want. Plus, DealDash features different sales throughout the week and this past week during a All Wins Free event, I won six prizes for only one penny each.   The way the free event works is you bid along with all the other players and the price of the item goes up one penny at a time until the last bid is placed, but no matter what the closing price, you pay only a one penny transaction fee, DealDash picks up the rest!

Bidding during the Free events can be a little tricky.  First, the site is definitely busier when all wins are free.  Everyone wants to win for one cent, let’s face it, it’s fun!  What I try to do is stay focused on the smaller items that are generally easier to win on any given day.  These are items similar to small jewelry, simple camping gear, like a lantern, small lamps, fashion items like a purse or some perfume.  These all make great gifts and I have won everything on that list with just a few bids.

During a free event you may encounter a lot of people who will come back into an auction after many players have 100’s of bids in….that is if they get a chance.  The risk involved with doing that is the auction may end while you are off bidding in another auction.  The following list of wins each cost me only one penny and a few bids, if I had dropped one bid and left, I wouldn’t have won them.  Basically, my strategy is to simply back out completely if I don’t win the item with the minimum number of bids, which I like to predetermine.  I make an estimate of how few bids I can win an item with and I try to stick to it. At times you may need to add more, especially if the auction is down to you and one other player, that’s when you hang on.

For a total of 318 bids I won these great prizes.

Small Table Clock $350- 49 bids

18K GP Crystal Ring $150- 6 bids

Hand Glazed Vase $225- 90 bids

Wool Ball Cap $85- 64 bids

Wool Beanie Hat $45- 5 bids

King Size Comforter $120- 104 bids

Nearly $1000 dollars worth of prizes won in less than six hours all during a free event and I paid about $45 for everything.  I do it by staying involved with an auction, sticking to one item at a time, and keeping to my limit on bids.  Most items on DealDash come up for sale several times during a day, so for that reason, always know, there is another on right around the corner.

Jumpers and Stompers at DealDash

So, you’ve been bidding at DealDash for awhile and you’ve noticed two different bidding styles that may annoy you somewhat, Jumping and Stomping.  What I can tell you is, even though it may not be nice, it’s not illegal. There are a dozen or so players at DealDash who jump and more that stomp, but they can be beat!

First let’s define these acts, Jumping is pretty common, especially on the higher retail items.  As you may have noticed DealDash has a “No Jumper” limit of $5, this means that no new players can join the auction after the $5 mark.  A jumper will place one to a dozen bids very early in the auction and then disappear for the next 1000 bids or so.  Now the auction is at $10.00 and they come back and try to out bid you because you’ve used 300 bids or more and now they feel you’ve exhausted your quota for the item, so they’ve come in to steal the item.  This back fires so often it’s hilarious when a “jumper” gets his just rewards (losing) for jumping.

The first thing that goes wrong for the jumper is the auction ends under $5, this happens more than not, but the average jumper will continue to take that chance.  I’ve jumped the jumper, that’s how I handle it. By jumping the jumper, I too, run the risk of losing because I dropped out.  This activity is common among the seasoned pro or when price doesn’t matter and sometimes both.  Some players just have buckets of money, you have to outsmart them, and believe me, they make mistakes, I’ve beaten them all and you will too. The other problem for the jumper is they actually don’t have very many bids so they wait and wait and hope no one wins.  Then they come back and use only 50-100 bids, not the 1000 like others do. They can be beat as well.

The Stomper is another breed of player, usually a new player who doesn’t understand the value of the Bid Buddy.  Your Bid Buddy is the best way to win an auction, it’s an automatic bidding system provided by DealDash.  When you stomp, you generally don’t plan when the bids are being placed, many will bid after every single other bid, this uses bids up exponentially and doesn’t win more auctions.  Often, the problems the stomper will encounter is other players who will stomp them back.  I don’t like to waste bids doing it, but others will just to “teach them a lesson”.  Hey, it is a competition, and as I said, it’s not illegal. It’s just not nice.

The Stomper is easily beat, they usually run out of bids very early in an auction, they use them up so quickly that when their bids are gone….they are gone.  Stomping is not a sustainable system of bidding and most people will finally give in to use the Bid Buddy.  There are however, several players who have been around for a long time who stomp.  Their strategy is to frighten players away from the auction, because if they stomp, you may lose the free bids DealDash gives you for your Time As High Bidder (TAHB). Your  TAHB is time rewarded in the form of free buds by DealDash for bidding.  For every second you are the highest bidder of the auction, you earn free bids, these bids are given when you reach your next level.

So, now you know about Jumpers and Stompers, not illegal, but not nice. In turn, I hope I’ve encouraged you to use your Bid Buddy, it’s really the best way to win auctions and earn free bids.

Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!
