Today was an exciting day for me. I got to see my first book go up for auction on DealDash.com.
After retiring as an award-winning journalist and writing more than 500 blogs for DealDash, I returned to a file of notes I kept for more than 50 years to write my own powerful story of survival: Get Tough or Die: Why I Forgave My Parents for My Abusive Childhood.
I felt deeply honored when the founder of DealDash offered to add my book to be auctioned on DealDash. It is so exciting to now have my book available on DealDash, hot off the press, three months before it is scheduled to be released on Amazon Sept. 1. In other words, Get Tough or Die is so new that those who have already read advanced copies of my book are not yet allowed to post reviews. But here is a note I received today from a customer who just read my book:
(We) received your book today and DEVOURED it! Thank you for writing it! As soon as Amazon allows, I will give you a 5-star review.
– Beth Rigoulet
This is a typical reaction to my book, nothing but rave reviews. Here are some short versions of a few more reviews I received:
I found this book very captivating and could not put it down once I started reading. It was brutally sad but also taught me some lessons to carry forward in my life. I enjoyed the book very much.
– Dawn Phillips
You are a fighter. I can’t believe you went through all that and came out such a positive person. I couldn’t stop reading your book once I had gotten started. I just finished it, and I’m still in mild shock. Thank you for writing this book.
– William Wolfram
I really think this book is going to help people with their journey in life. This story is a captivating and very real look into the trauma’s surrounding domestic violence.
– James Rodgers
In her riveting book, Barbara clearly does not put her focus on her often, life-threatening plight as much as her unyielding determination, which inspires us all.
– Patricia Seger
