Get Shopping Before Items Are Gone!

DealDash.com buys most of its products in bulk so we usually have plenty of opportunities to bid on items we like most. However, every once in a while, I see a red-letter notice on an auction product that states, “Only 2 units left. Bid before they are gone.”

It would be terrible if any of our favorite products were no longer available before we had an opportunity to win one. Sometimes I wish there were a separate group of auctions featured that were all due to soon run out so they would be easier to find. That’s why I decided to call attention to a few of these auctions that will soon run out of stock. Let’s take a look at a few of them.

Skin Care Products

A bundle of brand-name skin care products with a BIN of $122 are now up for auction. However, they will only go up for auction two more times before they are no longer available.

The bundle consists of:

  • Two bars of Purifying Mud Soap
  • One tube of Essential Day Moisturizer Combination Skin
  • One tube of Mineral Shower Get (Sea Kissed)

After receiving 56 customer reviews, and this brand of skin care products received an overall rating of 4.88 out of a possible 5.0 so they are obviously well liked. One previous winner wrote, “I feel like I just walked out of a spa – clean, relaxed and refreshed.”

Some of the best deals previous winners received this month are:

  • March 3, this bundle sold at 1 cent and the winner paid a total of only 21 cents for the 1 bid placed;
  • March 6, this bundle sold at $1.37 and the winner paid a total of $1.88 including the cost of the 6 bids placed; and
  • March 8, this bundle sold at $1.21 and the winner paid a total of $4.81 including the cost of the 18 bids placed.

For more specific information, see the auction description of this bundle of skin care products.

Get Tough or Die Book

Wow! My book, Get Tough or Die Why I Forgave My Parents for My Abusive Childhood, with a BIN of $17 says  “Only 3 units (books) left. Bid before they are gone!”

Based on 222 reviews from previous winners, my book received an overall rating of 4.89 out of a possible 5.0. Considering the difficult subject matter, that’s a fairly high rating. Not everybody can handle reading about such topics, especially if they grew up in a warm and loving home. One woman wrote, “The subject matter is difficult, but worth the read” and another previous winner wrote, “And I thought my childhood was rough.”

Some teenagers respected and cherished their parents a lot more after reading my book. I have received letters of appreciation from readers who thanked me for sharing my story. One woman told me she had not spoken to her parents in 20 years because she thought her parents were bad until she read my book. She then reconciled with her parents and now has a good relationship with them. That alone made my book worth writing. But it has a whole chapter about the importance of forgiveness, too.

So far this month my Get Tough or Die book sold at $5.30 on March 3, $1.63 on March 8, and $1.27 on March 22 so it’s usually an easy win. For more information, see the auction description.

It’s probably a good idea to open several auctions every day and scan them to see if you can find more that are soon running out of stock.

April Celebrations Are Here

I was surprised to see that Easter was in March this year, instead of April, but we still have many other designated special celebrations that are celebrated in April.

Did you know that April is National One-Cent Day? That reminds me of DealDash.com because we can actually win an auction for as little as one cent. It does not happen very often, but it still does happen.

Did you know each month highlights and celebrates many different events we might not know about such as Fun Day? We could celebrate that by designating one day in April to all do something fun, such as shop on DealDash because that sure is fun. LOL!

We probably know about April Fools Day, but most people probably do not know April is also Walk to Work Day, National Garden Month, National Pajama Day, Adopt a Shelter-Pet Day and National Siblings Day. I guess this last one means April is a good time to make a special effort to get in touch with our siblings.

Some events celebrated in April revolve around food, too, such as National Burrito Day, National Sourdough Bread, National Peanut Butter & Jelly Day, National Coffee Cake Day, National Chocolate Mouse Day, National Deep Dish Pizza Day and even Oatmeal Cookie Day.

Being a book lover and avid reader, I think my favorite celebrations in April are National Library Day and National Poetry Month. In fact, I have a few books that still go up for auction on DealDash and one of them is half-full of my poetry.

To celebrate the many food items we could shop for kitchen and baking items such as mixers, pots and pans, knives, silverware, and cutting or chopping boards. DealDash has it all.

To celebrate National Garden Month, we could look for gardening tools and other outdoor auction items. Let’s take a look at some of those auctions on DealDash.

Socket and Bit Set

I see a 37-piece 1/4th inch socket and bit set, with a BIN of $200. What I love about this set is that the bits are color-coded and that makes it so much easier to use. This set is smaller than some previous winners expected but otherwise well made. The dimensions with the case are 6 ½ inches by 2 ½ inches by 1 ¾ inches (folded), and the net weight is 1.13 pounds.

Some of the best deals DealDash shoppers won so far were:

  • March 13, this auction closed at $1.45 and the winner paid a total of $7.45 including the cost of the 30 bids placed;
  • March 8, this auction sold at $2.07 and the winner paid a total of $7.47 including the cost of the 27 bids placed; and
  • March 7, this auction sold at $1.03 and the winner paid a total of $5.43 including the cost of the 22 bids placed;

For more information and details of what this set includes, see the auction information.

Electric Patio Table Heater

An Electric Patio Table Heater has a BIN of $840.  After 142 reviews previous winners gave this table heater an overall rating of 4.91 out of a possible 5.0 which is extremely high and speaks volumes of the quality of this auction product.

So far, the best deals previous shoppers won on this Patio Table Heater were:

  • March 11, this table heater sold at $1.53 and the winner paid a total of $6.53 including the 25 bids placed and
  • March 1, this table heater sold at $13.15 and the winner paid a total of $33.15 including the cost of the 100 bids placed.

For more detailed information see the auction description.

Celebrating Easter

It’s difficult to believe Easter will soon be here and DealDash.com knows just how to celebrate.

Did you see the beautiful new Easter bid packs?  They come in bid packs of 194, 382, 631, 800, 1234 and 7633. All shoppers have the opportunity to win each bid pack one time only.

DealDash shoppers can shop for products we could include in our Easter baskets. Some auction items we could put in an adult’s Easter basket are: cosmetics, perfumes, gift cards, or watches.

Did you ever wonder where the idea of creating Easter baskets comes from in the first place? Let’s take a look at some common Easter traditions.

Easter Traditions

Easter traditions include sunrise services or late-night vigils, women wearing Easter bonnets, family gatherings, Easter parades, coloring Easter eggs, Easter egg hunts and filling Easter baskets for young children and adults alike. No one is ever too old to receive an Easter basket. In fact, I once bought a big  white clothes basket, attached a handle made out of bamboo with a ribbon on it and filled it with fake grass and Easter candy. Then I secretly put it on my friend’s front porch, rang the door bell and quickly ran away. My friend was so surprised to see the giant Easter basket and loved getting a much-needed clothes basket in such a fun way.

Another fun Easter tradition for some families is to help children plant a “Jelly Bean Garden.” The night before Easter give the children a handful of jellybeans and have them plant them in the dirt outside. While the children are sleeping, secretly replace the jellybeans with a lollipop. When the children see the magical lollipop treat their eyes grow wide with delight.

Some towns celebrate by holding a community “Egg Rolling Event.” This usually takes place on Easter Monday. Children roll decorated hard-boiled eggs down a hill. The owner of the egg that goes the farthest without breaking is the winner.

The tradition of Easter baskets dates back to around the 13th or 14th century. However, the tradition of Easter baskets and the Easter bunny were brought to America in the 18th century by German immigrants who settled in Pennsylvania. They also introduced the idea of eggs delivered by a rabbit. Children were told to prepare nests for the bunny to leave brightly colored Easter eggs. The basket was lined with a white linen or lace napkin and decorated with sprigs of boxwood (the typical Easter evergreen).

After Roman Catholics fasted during Lent, Easter morning became a “breakfast of Joy.” They no longer had to abstain from particular foods on Easter morning, and this became a celebration of Christ’s resurrection. Therefore, when Easter arrived, large baskets were filled with food and brought to churches to blessed by religious leaders. The blessing of the Easter Basket containing the first meal of Easter has been a Catholic ritual for centuries among families of Eastern European origin.

The bottom line

Regardless of  how we do or do not celebrate Easter, shopping on DealDash during the Easter holiday season is sure to be filled with lots of opportunities to have fun and win awesome deals.

A Hair Dryer Like No Other

Shopping on DealDash.com helps to keep me up to date with the latest and greatest products on the market.

For example, one of the new DealDash items is a unique hair dryer like no other. It has a BIN of $430 and doesn’t even look like a typical hair dryer. In fact, I did not know what it was from just looking at the auction picture. When I opened this auction and took a closer look I learned this is no ordinary hair dryer. Although it’s small in size, it is powerful. This kind of technology takes us to the space age.

Because this hair dryer is a new item, it only has five customer reviews, but so far the overall customer rating is 5.0 out of 5.0 and that’s as good as it gets.

According to the DealDash auction description, it features:

  • A digital motor V9 combined Air Multiplier technology produces a high-pressure, high-velocity jet of controlled air, for fast drying and precision styling
  • Intelligent heat control that prevents extreme heat damage; and measures air temperature over 40 times a second, and regulates the heat
  • Engineered for different hair types.  For more details about each of the five attachments, see the auction description
  • Magnetic attachments allows users to make adjustments quickly and easily;
  • Stays cool to the touch so surfaces of the attachments stay cool;
  • Lightweight and balanced by putting the motor in the handle, which change the dryer’s weight and shape;
  • Multiple speed and heat settings (3 speed settings and 4 heat settings)

A brief history of hairdryers

According to my research, the first hair dryer was invented by French stylist Alexandre Godefroy in 1888. His invention was a large, seated version that consisted of a bonnet that was attached to the chimney pipe of a gas stove. Beauty parlors became a place of sociability for women in the 20th century.

The first handheld hair dryers, also known as blow dryers, were first sold in the 1920s and they cost from $12 to $22.  Hundreds of people were electrocuted when they dropped their hairdryers into water-filled sinks and bathtubs. Pioneering innovators like Godefroy and Gabriel Kazanjian played pivotal roles in refining early designs. The early devices initially resembled vacuum cleaners and were cumbersome by today’s standards.

The average lifespan of today’s hairdryers are from 2 to 7 years, depending on  how often they are used and how well they are taken care of. Proper maintenance is important to enable healthy usage and eliminate potentially harmful pathogens. Otherwise, hair dryers can harbor bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms.

The bottom line

Hair dryers  have come a long way since they were first invented, and DealDash.com is a good place to shop for the latest and greatest one available.
