DealDash Tips to Save on a Vacation

DealDash

Taking a trip for February vacation? Better start planning now. Here are some tips from DealDash.

Maybe you’re taking a trip in February when then kids are on break from school, or maybe you’re traveling sooner for the holidays. No matter where you’re going, DealDash can help you save big on your trip. Read on for more information.

Here’s How DealDash Can Help with Packing

If you’re leaving for more than a day or so, you’re going to have a bit of packing to do. If you’re not satisfied with the luggage and travel bags that you have now, DealDash can provide great luggage and travel bags for auction. There are single hard shell pieces of luggage, as well as sets of small, medium, and large luggage. DealDash also has duffle bags and backpacks if you just need a carry-on bag. If you need bags that are even smaller such as cosmetics bags, DealDash has those as well.

Score Gift Cards for Your Hotel

Staying with family isn’t always an option when you’re going home for the holidays. Hotels are expensive. What are you going to do?  Well, if it were me, I would bid on gift cards for your hotel stay on DealDash. One of the best things about bidding on a hotel gift card is that even if you don’t win the auction you can always do a BIN (Buy It Now) on the hotel gift card. Since you’re going to be staying in the hotel anyway, it just makes sense to try and win a hotel gift card. You might win it for a great deal, you might win it for a little bit of money off of the face value, or you might not win at all. However, no matter which of these options happen to be the case, you will get to keep your time on the time clock.

BIN and the Time Clock

BIN is a feature that DealDash offers to every bidder in every auction. This is also known as “Buying It Now.” If you have been bidding on a hotel gift card and you know that you’re not going to win the item you can purchase it at the face value of the gift card. This is a great savings for you because you will be able to keep all of the time that you accrued on the time clock when bidding on your hotel gift card.

Place a Bid before $5 from October 10th’s Blog

Maybe you missed Barbara’s article on October 10th, and the top tip from that blog is to be sure that you place at least 1 bid before the auction reaches $5. This is because DealDash has a $5 No Jumper rule which means that only people who have placed a bid before the auction reaches $5 may participate in the auction. Here’s what Barbara said about the topic:

It might be a good idea to place more than one bid in the beginning of each auction just in case it closes early, but you will save bids by waiting until the auction gets down to the last two or three bidders before you place the bulk of your bids into BidBuddy.

If you’d like to read the entire article, just click on this link right here.

Make Your Bids Last from October 11th’s Blog

If you missed the Tips blog on October 11th, it was all about trying to conserve your DealDash bids. There were a lot of good tips to keep in mind to make your bids last, but the top tip was to get free bids from DealDash so you can save the ones that you purchased with your hard-earned money.

Sometimes You Need to Step Back From October 12th’s Blog

October 12th’s blog reminded you that every day might not be your best day on DealDash. Barbara wrote that everyone has both good and bad days on DealDash. Good Days, Bad Days on DealDash

By Barbara

Everyone has good days and bad days. That’s just part of life.  It is no different when shopping on DealDash.com. Some days I win every auction I bid in, while other days I do not win a single one.  Did this ever happen to you?

Some possible reasons this happens are:

  • Some days the auctions have more bidders than they have other days. The middle of the week might be slow days. Weekends, while most people are off work, might tend to be more competitive.
  • Perhaps what’s happening in the world might make a difference. For example, if shoppers are busy watching the Super Bowl, there might not be as many people shopping online.
  • Some DealDash features, such as the “Free to the Winner” specials, might be more popular than others. Therefore, the competition levels might go up or down depending on the feature.

Whatever the reason for good days and bad days at the auctions, do not get discouraged.

Good Days at the Auctions

When you are having a good day shopping on DealDash, I suggest you continue to shop ‘til you drop. Take advantage of your good karma days and enjoy the items you win.

Bad Days at the Auctions

When you are having a bad day shopping on DealDash, I suggest you either change your strategy or quit, save your bids and come back another day. Sometimes making a few minor changes can make a difference. To get ideas on what you might do differently, it might be a great time to go to the “Tips and Strategies” page and read more “how to” blogs, like this one.

Whatever the case, always remember DealDash support staff members are always there to help any way they can, and there are several ways you can contact them. Just click on the big yellow button at the bottom of the home page that says “Contact Support” or you can go to:  https://www.dealdash.com/support  or send an email to “[email protected].

DealDash Tips: What Beginners Should Know

By Barbara

To get off to a positive shopping experience on DealDash.com I put together a list of the most important things all beginners should know:

  • Do not cast single bids from the home page and do not try to beat the clock. Beating the clock will not help you win on DealDash. That’s not how this shopping site works.
  • Learn how to use the automated bidder, BidBuddy. If you double click on the auction you want to win, a new window will open up and that’s where you will see BidBuddy. Most experienced shoppers use BidBuddy because it saves bids and money. When you place your bids into BidBuddy, you bids will not be used until they are needed.
  • It is important to watch and learn tips on how other shoppers bid. I have a list of power bidders that I avoid competing with in auctions. If I see certain screen names show up in an auction, I will cancel my bids and wait for the next auction.
  • Place at least one bid before an auction reaches $5.00 or you will be locked out of bidding in that auction. Sometimes DealDash has special features when you might have to place your first bid before the auction reaches $3.00 or you will be locked out. It might be a good idea to place more than one bid in the beginning of each auction just in case it closes early, but you will save bids by waiting until the auction gets down to the last two or three bidders before you place the bulk of your bids into BidBuddy. By doing that, you will be less likely to run out of bids when they are most needed to win the auction.
  • It is usually best to focus on one auction at a time. Then, if you do not win, you will only have to do a “Buy-It-Now” on just one item to get all your bids back for free.
  • If you have questions, contact customer service. They are always happy to help answer any questions a customer might have.
  • Do not worry about shipping. All of your orders come with a tracking number and everything is always well packed and arrives in excellent condition.
