DealDash: Bid on THIS not THAT

DealDash

Don’t bid on just anything on DealDash. Follow this quick DealDash Tips guide to choosing what to bid on.

Now, as a big fan of DealDash, you might think that I would advise you to bid on just any random thing on DealDash. However, that’s not the case at all. There are many wonderful things to bid on, but there are some things that are probably just not right for your life that you should avoid. Let’s take a quick look at my “choosing auctions” guide.

Do You Really Need That?

When you’re browsing through the auctions it might be tempting to bid on anything and everything that you find appealing. However, this can be very expensive, and if you are hopping from auction to auction, not very successful. If you are looking for something to bid on, why bother bidding on something that you’ve won 3 times before, such as a phone case or the same pair of earrings? If you have some bids burning a hole in your pocket, why not bid on something that you know that you will use, like a gift card?

You Can Never Go Wrong With a Gift Card

As I mentioned above, you can never go wrong with a gift card! If you have bids saved up and nothing to do with them, why not try for a gift card? You might not win, but you can always pay the face value of the card and get all of your bids back. That’s the great thing about DealDash, they only charge face value for gift cards, and you get free shipping. That makes them an even better deal than purchasing them online from the store that they’re from – because the other stores charge shipping.

Skip the In-Season Stuff

If it’s winter, I don’t suggest that you bid on a snow shovel, snow blower, or other cold-weather items. Seasonal items are in top demand, and it will be quite a battle to end up with them. It makes a lot more sense to bid on out of season items because there is less competition. If you think ahead to the next season, then you will be able to get much better deals. Think about it, how many people want to bid on a swimming pool in November?

Make Sure it Fits

Bidding on clothing can get you a super deal. However, you need to look closely at what sizes you are bidding on before you give it a shot. I mistakenly bid on (and won!) a size small sweater. I am definitely not a size small! I thought perhaps I would be able to exchange it for a large, but when I contacted customer service they said it wasn’t possible. They only have a certain number of each size, and the larges were already spoken for. It was my mistake, though, so I will just save it for Christmas and give it to my sister-in-law, who can wear a size small. If you aren’t sure of the sizing, I would suggest not bidding on the item. Wait until an item that you are sure will fit comes up for auction.

DealDash Tips You Shouldn’t Forget

DealDash

You probably have heard some of these DealDash tips before. However, they are important, so try not to forget them.

If you just signed up for DealDash today you might not have heard these tried and true tips before. If you’re a regular DealDash player you have most likely heard them before. They are essential to maximizing your wins on DealDash, though, so you shouldn’t forget them. Read on for more information on these tips that you shouldn’t forget.

Buy Bids When They are at a Good Price

You never know exactly what the bid price is going to be on DealDash. It’s important to buy your bids when there is a big sale going on. Though the base price of the bids is .60 per bid, you can often find them on sale for .13, .14, or .15. Personally, if they are priced any higher than .15 per bid I won’t buy them. I know that they will come down in price in the next few days. Then I just check back every day until they are a price that I am willing to pay. The only reason that I would ever buy bids for a higher price is if I was in the

The only reason that I would ever buy bids for a higher price is if I was in the middle of an auction and I was running out of bids. That would have been poor planning on my part, and I would have to pay the price of higher bids. Don’t let this happen to you. When you see bids for a low price then you should buy as many as your bidding budget will allow.

Make Sure You Have a Bidding Budget

As I  mentioned in the above tip, you should have a bidding budget. It all depends on you what that budget should be, and how you want to set it up. You could do a daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly bidding budget. This budget can include money to spend on bids, money to pay final auction value fees, and money to purchase BINs (Buy It Now).

Some people choose not to include their Buy It Now purchases into their bidding budget. This is especially true if you are doing a BIN on something that you either regularly purchase or if it was something that you had been planning and saving up for already such as a new computer. Make sure that you stick to your budget. You can always re-think your budget at some point if the budget you originally chose isn’t working for you.

Have You Ever Tried These DealDash Tips?

Not Every Auction is the Same

If you haven’t been bidding on DealDash very long you might think that every auction is played in the same way. That would be incorrect! If you bid in every auction the exact same way then you aren’t going to win as many auctions as you could. There are a variety of reasons why one particular auction isn’t like the other, even if it’s for the same item. Some of these reasons can include:

  • It depends on who is bidding in the auction
  • It depends on what day the auction is
  • It depends on what time the auction is taking place
  • It depends on what other things are up for bid at the same time

So you see, you really can’t treat every auction the same way. You have to approach them differently and you will have more success.

Use Your BidBuddy for the Best Success

Not using your BidBuddy in each and every auction is a huge mistake.  The BidBuddy is like a gift! He’s given to every single bidder on every single auction. He’s the gift that just keeps winning! He’s very easy to use as well. It doesn’t take more than a couple of clicks, and you’ll be good to go. Here are very simple instructions on how to use your buddy, the BidBuddy.

  1. Find an auction that you would like to bid on
  2. Click on the auction’s picture to open up its individual page
  3. See the large black rectangle? The BidBuddy is in the middle
  4. Click in the blank box and put in the number of bids you want to use in the auction
  5. Click “Book a BidBuddy”
  6. Sit back and watch the BidBuddy bid for you

90 Days Until Christmas … DealDash Will Help!

When shopping for Christmas gifts, I’ve always been a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants sort of gal who enjoys a good shopping challenge before the stores close on Christmas Eve.

So when people remind me that they’ve “almost got their shopping done” for the holidays or that there are XX number of days before Christmas, I generally cringe knowing what lies ahead. But not this year. With the help of DealDash, I’ve already got a jump on shopping with the great finds in the auctions. Here are some tips on how to gear up for holiday shopping with DealDash:

Make a List, Check it Twice

Make a list of who you will be shopping for and what items you would like to give each person. Make a plan to concentrate on those items on your list. It will help you stay focused and get the win.

Plan Ahead

Plan ahead and don’t wait until the last minute to start bidding on the items you want. Things will go much more smoothly if you have a plan of action, get bidding and focus on your goals.

Be Aware of the Competition

Bidding usually picks up before the holidays so prepare yourself with more bids, an awareness of who is bidding and a good strategy.

Notice What’s New

Oftentimes DealDash offers the addition of a wide variety of toys, games and items for the kids to choose from for the holidays. Keep checking back under new items to see what you could put on your gift-giving wish list!

Bookmark Your Faves

Use the bookmark function to put your favorites toward the top of your page when you’re on DealDash. This will also ensure that you receive an email notification when the auction goes live.

Hate Distractions? Do This!

If you dislike the distractions of ongoing auctions while you are trying to focus solely on those you have bookmarked, go to the My Dashboard icon at the top right of the page and you will be re-routed to a list of items under that heading. Scroll down to and click on Bookmarked auctions and it will only display the items you have bookmarked. No distractions.

BidBuddy, as Always

BidBuddy takes the sting out of having to constantly watch your live auctions. It also gives you the flexibility to browse and check on other auctions frequently and not worry that you will miss a bid.

Stock Your Closet

An attainable goal for me has been to win three gifts a week and put them away for gifts for the upcoming holidays. So far this method has been working great and I’ve already got at least 10 items stocked.

And there you have it, some useful tips for developing a plan to tackle holiday shopping once and for all.  As always, don’t forget that the best gifts of all on DealDash are the ones you treat yourself to. Don’t forget to get something special for you, too.

As always, happy bidding on DealDash!
