Winter Shopping

Are you prepared for bad weather?  In some parts of the country the cold, rainy weather has already arrived.

But there’s no need to fear because DealDash.com is here. DealDash has many auctions that can keep us warm and dry on dark, wet winter days.

It is especially important to keep our feet warm and dry, so shopping for some waterproof winter boots might be a good place to start.

Did you see the ladies’ cow leather boots?

Ladies waterproof cow leather boots

Now is the time to shop for these cow leather boots before it is too late. Unfortunately, DealDash has very few of these boots left, depending on the size. When they are gone, they are gone.

These durable black cow’s leather boots with a square heel have a BIN of $690.00. They come with an elastic side panel for stretch and boot loops to make them easier to pull on. The bottom tread provides for a rugged and solid grip in slippery places.

Based on 17 product reviews so far (for size 7) these boots received an overall rating of 4.84 out of a possible 5.0. One customer complained they seemed to be hard to get on, but most customers said they fit well and are very comfortable. Perhaps how easy it is to get these boots on or off might partly depend on how wide or narrow the user’s feet are.

The best thing of all is that many past winners have already won some fantastic deals. Some of the best deals so far on Size 7 winners are:

  • Sept. 26 these ladies boots sold at $1.57 and the winner paid a total of only $1.58 including the cost of the 4 bids used to win;
  • Sept. 29 these ladies boots sold at $4.30 and the winner paid a total of $30.70 including the cost of the 132 bids used to win; and
  • Sept. 10, these ladies boots sold at $9.80 and the winner paid a total of $48.00 including the cost of the 191 bids placed.

All of the above winners received bargain prices on these boots.

A brief history of leather boots

The oldest leather boot brand in the USA was produced by the Frye Company in 1888, but the first mass produced leather boots appeared in the 17th Century. Thomas Pendleton produced 4,000 pairs of shoes and 600 pairs of boots for the British Army in 1642.

According to my research, 65 percent of leather comes from cows while 15 percent comes from sheep, 11 percent from pigs and 9 percent from goats. Less than 0.2 percent of leather comes from any other type of animal.

Regardless of what kind of leather today’s boots are made out of we can be sure that any boots on DealDash.com are high quality and will be sure to last a long time.

Fun n’ Games

Sometimes I enjoy shopping for Fun N’ Games.

Did you see the Cornhole set outdoor game on DealDash.com?

I enjoyed playing a game like this when I was a child, but we called it something else. I think we just called it a bean bag toss. The concept was the same and it was a lot of fun.

Whenever DealDash introduces a new item, we don’t yet have any stats to go by.

This Cornhole set has a BIN of $202. It’s an excellent game to bring to a BBQ or other outdoor family reunions. The set features two solid wood tournament-size target boards for better play, and a bean bag return ramp to keep the game moving.

The 8 bean bags in two team colors can be stored between the boards. They can be attached together and carried away effortlessly.

Cornhole set outdoor game

Bring the fun to your next BBQ or tailgate with the EastPoint® Sports Legacy Bean Bag Toss! The set features 2, Solid Wood Tournament Size Target Boards for better play, and a Bean Bag Return Ramp to keep the game moving without delay!

When gameplay is complete, store your bags between the boards, attach them together, and carry away effortlessly using a durable rope carry handle. It comes complete with 8 Bean bags in two team colors. The Legacy Bean Bag Toss is sure to be a hit.

Each solid wood bean bag toss boards measure 48- inches by 24- inches and the bean bags are 6-inches by 6-inches.

Teams of players take turns throwing fabric bean bags at a hole that is cut at the far end of a raised, angled board. The players get points by either landing a bag on the board (for 1 point) or getting the bag in the hole (for 3 points).

It is a rather simple, fun game that can be enjoyed by the whole family! This makes the game very popular and beloved. Bean bag games give children opportunities to develop their gross motor skills, increase balance, and enhance directionality which is important for literacy skills.

You can warm up a bean bag in a microwave but it does not have a rotating plate, shift the bag’s contents back and forth to help distribute the heat evenly.

Like any item you heat in a microwave, your bean bag filling can burn, so never leave it unattended, and always be careful when you remove the hot pad or place it on your skin.

The bottom line

Who knows, we could be the next winner of this cornhole game.

Happy shopping, everyone!

A brief history of watches

The origins of watches can be traced back to 16th Century Europe.

Peter Henlein (also spelled Henle or Hele) (1485 – August 1542), a locksmith and clockmaker of Nuremberg, Germany, is often considered the inventor of the watch.

The popular Rolex was invented in 1905.

In 1854, the oldest American made watch was created by Aaron Dennison, who established the Waltham Watch Company, which went on to make the first-ever watch with interchangeable parts and the first 100 percent American-made watch.

RGM is one of the finest American watchmakers around, and one of the few American watch brands that craft their own in-house mechanical movements, taking American watchmaking to a whole new level. The company was launched in 1992 in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, by Roland G.

The definition of what makes a watch vintage can vary widely, but it’s generally said to be anything between 25 to 30 years old, or older.

Awesome Kitchen Items

Did you see the awesome kitchen items DealDash.com now has up for auction? I decided to check them out and I found some items I really like.

Let’s take a look at some of these auctions.

Honey Pot

Did you know honey is one of the healthiest sweeteners we can use?

The honey pot caught my eyes because my brother John went into bee keeping as a hobby during his retirement. I often buy honey, but I never had a honey pot. This honey pot with a BIN of $195 is 3.5 inches in diameter and 5 inches in height and it would great on my table.

So far, my brother John has about 100 quart jars of honey that he already put up, and I bought one from him for half the cost I would pay in the store. One of the biggest challenges he has is keeping his bees alive during the harsh Minnesota winters. This year, he’s going to put them in a heated garage before he takes his camper south for the winter. John is also going to leave plenty of honey behind for the bees to eat so they can thrive and survive. I learned there’s a lot more to beekeeping than I realized.

Some of the best deals previous winners received on this honey pot so far are:

  • Sept. 20, this honey pot sold at 9 cents and the winner paid a total of only 84 cents including the cost of the 4 bids placed;
  • Sept. 12, this honey pot sold at 2 cents and the winner paid a total of 22 cents including the cost of the 1 bid placed;
  • Sept. 4, this honey pot sold at 2 cents and the winner paid a total of 21 cents including the cost of the 1 bid placed; and
  • Sept. 10, this honey pot sold at 15 cents and the winner paid a total of 55 cents including the cost of the 2 bids placed.

Several other shoppers won this honey pot for less than $10. In fact, I decided to shop for it, myself.

Food Dehydrator

I’ve always wanted to get a food dehydrator, but never did.

This food dehydrator has a BIN of $310 and it opens up a whole new world of options. As the DealDash description says, “Dehydrated foods are a great alternative to addictive cookies and chips.” This dehydrator locks in nutritional value without using sugar or oil and it keeps food fresher much longer. By using a dehydrator, we can buy our produce at reduced prices when they are in season and then store them away for later. It’s also a great way to save space. Then when we are ready to eat, all we have to do is add water to rehydrate the food.  It can be used to dehydrate strawberries, bananas and even orange slices.

Some of the best deals shoppers have received so far are:

  • Sept. 23, this food dehydrator sold at 20 cents and the winner paid a total of 50 cents including the cost of the 2 bids placed;
  • Sept. 20, this food dehydrator sold at $6.69 and the winner paid a total of   $14.94 including the cost of the58 bids placed; and
  • Sept. 18, this food dehydrator sold at $7.72 and the winner paid a total of $20.12 including the cost of the 62 bids placed.

I will be keeping my eyes on this item. It’s about time I get what I’ve wanted for the last 30 years, so I’ll see you in the auctions.
