Perhaps the most common question people ask me about shopping on DealDash.com is, “What is the best time to bid?”
What is the best time to shop?
Of course, there is no way I could provide a perfect answer to this question because I do not have access to the statistics. Therefore, I cannot see what day of the week or what time of the day or night the greatest number of shoppers are actively shopping. If I were to give my single best response to this question, I would say, “The best time to shop on DealDash is when we have the most time available with no other distractions.”
I can tell you I’ve lost many auctions simply because I had other distractions and took my eyes away from this shopping site a little too often or a little too long.
Distraction free shopping
Getting back to this question, however, besides making sure you have enough quiet time with no distractions, I can also provide some common-sense guidelines that might help:
- Look for times when there appears to be the least amount of competition. I usually avoid shopping on weekends because customers who normally work Monday through Friday (when we are not on quarantine) are more likely to do their online shopping during their weekend time off.
- Consider time zones. If you want to bid in auctions while the majority of other shoppers are sleeping, remember to take time zones into consideration. Retirees might decide to shop at night and sleep late in the morning, or they might shop early in the morning, while other people are busy getting ready for work. Remember, however, that if you are on Pacific Standard Time, while other shoppers are on Eastern Standard Time, they are three hours ahead of you. While it is still night time for you, it is already morning for them.
- After this quarantine is lifted and things get back to normal, take advantage of important events like the Super Bowl. If enough other DealDash shoppers might be busy watching a game, you might be winning auctions on DealDash.
Avoid shopping during the most popular specials when everybody’s rich grandma and grandpa get online. If you sign-in on DealDash every day and just watch, you might be able to figure out just when those “best shopping times” are happening.
