Shopping on DealDash.com helps to keep me up to date with the latest and greatest products on the market.
For example, one of the new DealDash items is a unique hair dryer like no other. It has a BIN of $430 and doesn’t even look like a typical hair dryer. In fact, I did not know what it was from just looking at the auction picture. When I opened this auction and took a closer look I learned this is no ordinary hair dryer. Although it’s small in size, it is powerful. This kind of technology takes us to the space age.
Because this hair dryer is a new item, it only has five customer reviews, but so far the overall customer rating is 5.0 out of 5.0 and that’s as good as it gets.
According to the DealDash auction description, it features:
- A digital motor V9 combined Air Multiplier technology produces a high-pressure, high-velocity jet of controlled air, for fast drying and precision styling
- Intelligent heat control that prevents extreme heat damage; and measures air temperature over 40 times a second, and regulates the heat
- Engineered for different hair types. For more details about each of the five attachments, see the auction description
- Magnetic attachments allows users to make adjustments quickly and easily;
- Stays cool to the touch so surfaces of the attachments stay cool;
- Lightweight and balanced by putting the motor in the handle, which change the dryer’s weight and shape;
- Multiple speed and heat settings (3 speed settings and 4 heat settings)
A brief history of hairdryers
According to my research, the first hair dryer was invented by French stylist Alexandre Godefroy in 1888. His invention was a large, seated version that consisted of a bonnet that was attached to the chimney pipe of a gas stove. Beauty parlors became a place of sociability for women in the 20th century.
The first handheld hair dryers, also known as blow dryers, were first sold in the 1920s and they cost from $12 to $22. Hundreds of people were electrocuted when they dropped their hairdryers into water-filled sinks and bathtubs. Pioneering innovators like Godefroy and Gabriel Kazanjian played pivotal roles in refining early designs. The early devices initially resembled vacuum cleaners and were cumbersome by today’s standards.
The average lifespan of today’s hairdryers are from 2 to 7 years, depending on how often they are used and how well they are taken care of. Proper maintenance is important to enable healthy usage and eliminate potentially harmful pathogens. Otherwise, hair dryers can harbor bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms.
The bottom line
Hair dryers have come a long way since they were first invented, and DealDash.com is a good place to shop for the latest and greatest one available.
