Hurray! It's Here, The Holiday Season at DealDash!

I was thrilled to see all the new holiday items when I went shopping at DealDash the other day!  Everyone and their Grandmother is preparing for this joyous time of year and what a better way to prepare than to go to DealDash!  I love the sales this season and the merchandise is great!
When I was a young girl, during the holiday season, my family would gather around the projector screen and view family photos or movies from years past, it always gave us all something to laugh at, and I love seeing the hairstyles change! So, what a surprise when I found the screens and projectors right on the DealDash site.  This is a great way to make family memories together and enjoy revisiting the past.

They range in price from $500 to 1000 and that is a good thing because the variety works for everyone’s budget.  It will also reduce the number of people bidding in the lower value item, as a general rule, the higher the value of the item, the more people who will be bidding in the auction.  So now that I have decided on items to bid on, I plan.  I let DealDash help me with the “Alert Me” feature that you can find in the search bar.  Simply type in an item you are interested in finding, when the search pops up click on the items and at the bottom of that page you can select, Alert Me and you will be notified prior to the auction.

What do you get for the people on your list you just can’t decide for.  They either have everything already or may not really like to accept a gift that isn’t useful.   That’s when I go to the “Gift Basket” and DealDash has them.  What better way to give a little love than with food!  I plan on going after several of these over the next few weeks, I have found one that is fairly priced, retail, so if I don’t win it, I can always BIN it.  (Buy It Now feature) If I use the BIN feature, I will get all the bids used back to try for another one, which I know is coming because I used the “Alert Me” feature.
My old roaster pan was worn out so I knew where to go to find one, among the thousands of items I found the greatest roaster pan and a chafing dish as well.  When you bid on items that you know you are willing to BIN, you are literally investing in your future because for every bid you place you rack up free bids, the more you bid, the more fee bids.  You could be lucky enough to get a 3X meter, which DealDash does from time to time giving you three times the amount of free bids.
No matter who you are, there is a child on your list.  DealDash has provided every gift I needed for every occasion since I started shopping and playing on the site.  So why not treat the children on your list.   Whether it is your child or a niece or nephew, you can find the right gift for them.  It would be exciting if  you won them a video game system and you only paid $50 for it!  That happens, but be sure you are willing to buy it, so if a video game system isn’t in your budget, go for the other variety of toys from just a few dollars to under $100.

I don’t stop at gifts and everyday items, I love all the decorations you can find this time of year.  It’s great to know that every item you buy at DealDash is SHIPPED FREE! So I never have to think about using my gas or time to go to the store for items I have to run all over town for.  I can just find it at DD and I’m a happy shopper!

Plan, plan, plan! I just outlined my next couple of weeks of fun at DealDash, I shop, then I bid.  Every gift and every item you bid for is investing in your future, so stock up on bids and have your shopping list ready!

Three Simple Tips to Win at DealDash!

Strategy is an ever evolving event on DealDash.  I have spent many hours taking notes and learning about my competition, but it never seems to fail, just when I have one guy figured out, there are three more new ones to figure out.  This means, don’t underestimate the newbie.  They may or may not have been watching.  Newbies tend to take liberties that a seasoned player has given up on.  For example, they like to overbid, this can happen two ways, 1. They bid after every person, doubling the amount of bids they place, and 2. They stay in an auction waaaay to long.  The auction should have been won by someone, but this newbie stays over his welcome.  That’s a good time to let them have it.  Yes, I mean let the auction go, you will be relieved you didn’t spend another 200 bids on a 15 dollar item.  They are one item closer to their winning limit.
The Bid Buddy is the best defense against any opponent.  You can sit and manually enter bids,or you can set up your Bid Buddy and go about your day.  I have found that setting my BB, gives me freedom and energy.   I will go do some chores after I set it, and while I do, knowing my Bid Buddy it ticking away, I work faster, get more done and run back to the computer often. Sothe Bid Buddy is your friend in more ways than one!

Don’t underestimate planning! If you just bought a Bid Pack, the worst idea is to march onto the auction site and start pouncing down bids on every item available.  You will soon be out of bids and sorely disappointed by the guy who planned on being in the auction, only has one or two auctions and is planning to buy the item if they don’t win.  Be conservative!  Planning is simple at Deal Dash and only requires you to go shopping!  Look through your favorite categories, find items you want and need, make a list and then get involved!
The three most important things about playing and winning at Deal Dash are these simple tips: know the competition, use your Bid Buddy, and plan your shopping needs to win the items you want and need.  Finally, one bit of advice, don’t be stubborn, walk away from an auction if you have to.  Once in awhile, I will just do it to be kind, it makes you feel good.  I just picture the person on the other end throwing their hands up in the air yelling “YES!”, that’s what I do, then I do my happy fireworks dance.
DealDash is so much fun, they have great prices on retail items and you can get great deals when you win an auction.  But you never have to go away empty handed at DealDash, if you don’t win, you can buy it and get all your bids back!  Win- Win!

Going For The Big One! Stats of a DealDash Big Ticket Item

So you have won a bunch of auctions, all the small items you were hoping for.  I did this for nearly a year.  Now you want to go for the big one!  Here are a few examples of my big ticket items and the strategy that went with the win.
One of my first big ticket items was a Viper Tool Box valued at $461, it closed at $30.26 and was during a “Free Sale”, so I only paid one cent transaction fee.  Let’s look into the stats of this auction.  Ok, big ticket item, we’ve established that.  Now, how popular an item is it?  Have you watched this item a few times? You should have, now this particular item, the Viper Tool Box,  is very popular, so I knew there was going to be a lot of people trying to win it.  It was also a new item at the time, and the excitement around the item is high….I still wanted it, so I was going for it!
First, go to the logged off version of the item.  If you log out of Deal Dash, what the non-members see is the average selling price of the item.  This number is very important, but is not the golden rule, it should be used to estimate the number of bids you will need to win this item. Let’s say the average selling price was $34.00 you can assume that the auction will eventually boil down to 4 players, divide the average number of bids placed by the average number of players, this will be the minimum number of bids you will need to win the item.  3400/4 = 850.  So you will need to have 850 bids as a general rule to win this.  That is $128 for bids plus the selling price.
Once the item reaches $5.00 you have now the “set pool of players” no one can join the auction after $5.00, therefore “No Jumpers”.  You will now count the number of players .  This Viper Tool Box had 60 players, and average selling price is $34.00.  Take the price and remove the decimal point 3400 potential bids so at any given time there could be 7-10 people divide the number of bids by the average number of people, for this example, I will use 8, the average number of players at any given time after $5.00.  So, 3400/8= 425 this is the least amount of bids you will need to win this auction, on average.
Now, let’s use my numbers of the actual auction to see how this compares to the average tool box auction.   My Tool Box closed at $30.26 and I used 431 bids.  This was a Free Auction Sale, so although the auction ended at $30.26, I only paid a one penny transaction fee.  Add that to the cost of bids I used which was 431 x .15 (avg. cost of a bid) = $64.65 + $.01 = $64.66 which was my final cost of the tool box.  This $461 item cost me $64.66 and I saved $396.34 that is 85% off! The tool box weighed 85 pounds and Deal Dash shipped it free.
Compared to the statistics
average selling price = $34.00
my selling price         = $30.26
bids need as per calculations = 425-850
bids I used                                  = 431
my cost including bids = $64.66
my savings                      = 85%
Like all statistics, there is a standard deviation, or as some might say “plus or minus”, or “give or take”, but what ever term you use, statistics is all about averages and anything can factor in and skew the results.  But, as a general rule you can figure where your budget should be for a big ticket item.  As always, you should be prepared to purchase the item if you don’t win it.  If you were just trying to win it for a few cents and you did! Congratulations!

No matter how you get there, enjoy the chase, that’s what it’s all about, we are all here for the same reason, to find great deals and have fun doing it.
