DealDash Tips to Keep Creative Kids Occupied

The trouble with this weather is that it’s very hard to keep the kids occupied. Here are some tips from DealDash how to keep your kids entertained while stuck inside.

It is very important that you encourage your children to get creative and “think outside of the box” when it comes to keeping themselves entertained. DealDash wants to help your kids use their imaginations so they can learn to keep themselves occupied without the use of TV, iPads, and computers. Not that there’s anything wrong with some screen time every day, but there should be a lot of “imagination time” as well. Here are some tips from DealDash to get your kids (or grandkids) interested in entertaining themselves.

Dress Up

Both boys and girls love to play dress up, normally the girls enjoy dressing as their favorite Disney princesses and boys like to be tiny pirates or firemen. Here’s a tip – save their Halloween costumes! Most Halloween costumes are meant to be worn over clothing anyway, and tend to run very big. My daughter is still able to wear her Minne Mouse and Cinderella dresses from 2 and 3 years ago when she plays dress up.

Pretend Food and Kitchen

Most kids also enjoy playing with pretend plastic food. It’s a little surprising to me, but the $10 set of pretend plastic food that I bought for our playroom a few years ago still gets played with at least 5 times a week! Since the pretend food was such a hit I ended up getting a whole kitchen set, tea set, pots and pans, and appliances for the kids to play with. This type of play is excellent for their imaginations, and it’s very funny to see what kind of “meals” they end up making. Banana-tomato-pickle smoothie, anyone?

Cash Register and Store

Another thing that sees a lot of use in our playroom is the cash register set. We actually have had to replace the original cash register because it got so much use! The kids love to make a pretend store with some of the toys from the playroom and they take turns being the cashier and the customer. This is also a great activity to learn the value of different coins, and do simple addition and subtraction.

DealDash Tips to Make Kids Happy

Two things make kids happiest – time with their parents, and toys! Why not do both and win some fun things from DealDash?

DealDash has so many fun toys, crafts, games, outdoor activities, and other kid-friendly items to choose from. Why not DealDash with the whole family? Gather up the family, go to DealDash, click on the Toys, Hobbies, Outdoors, & Games category, and let your kids choose what to bid on? Once they find something that they like, be sure to check the reviews on the product that DealDash provides to make sure that it’s something appropriate for their ages.

It’s Like a Math Lesson

If you’re going to let the kids choose what to bid on, why not turn the bids into a math lesson for them? For older kids you can get them to figure out how many bids you need to put in to reach the BIN (Buy It Now) price, and for younger kids you can let them count up to the number of bids you’re using. In case you need a little refresher course on how to do your DealDash Math, here’s a tip:

If you’d like to bid on a $10 Burger King gift card, $10 divided by .15 cents is approximately 67 bids. However, if you want to make sure that you don’t over-bid, you have to include the going auction price. If you join the auction at $4, whatever you do, don’t place 67 bids on a $10 gift card auction that has reached an auction price of $4! If you happened to win on the 67th bid you would be paying a total of $14 dollars for the auction you’ve just Won! Bids price + Final Auction Value = Total Money Spent.

Get Outside, Get Active With the Kids

If math lessons aren’t your idea of fun family bonding time, then maybe you should just do the bidding yourself. However, you should keep the kids in mind and bid on some fun outdoor equipment for when the weather starts getting nicer again. The good thing about that is most people aren’t looking for pools and trampolines at this time of year, so there will be less competition. If making your kids happy is the goal, trust me, when the UPS man pulls up with a new bike or soccer goal their eyes will light up, even if they can’t use them yet!

DealDash Tips to Win Toys

Toys? Toys?! Why would anyone want to win toys from DealDash just a few days after Christmas? Read on to find out why.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, a great reason to bid on DealDash toys right now is they are not the top priority on everyone’s wish list right now. Just think, everyone who has kids and grandkids that they love to shop for have most likely just given the kids tons of presents! Unless any of their favorite kiddos has a January birthday, toys are going to be at the bottom of the shopping list for at least a month or so.

Kids who live in foster care don’t always get Christmas presents. The state tries to give out as many gift and clothing vouchers that they can, but let’s face it – there are approximately 500,000 kids in foster care in the USA on any given day. Some of these kids just fall through the cracks and aren’t recognized with a gift at Christmas. Did you know that on average, children remain in state care for nearly two years and seven percent of children in foster care have languished there for five or more years? Here’s a tip- win some toys on DealDash, donate them to your local Department of Social Services, and make kids happy. These kids won’t mind if their gift is a few weeks late.

The same applies to pet products as well, as a reader kindly pointed out to me the last time that I mentioned donations. If you ever happen to win an item on DealDash that an animal would enjoy, please consider donating it to your local animal shelter for the homeless kitties and puppies. It’s the kind thing to do.

New Items Added All The Time at DealDash

It’s so much fun to bid and shop at DealDash, and it never gets old because they add new items all the time. As soon as you see a new item that you would like to win, you should go for it. You never know how quickly the item will go. They might keep the item on the site for days, or months, there is really no way of knowing.

There are a few categories where DealDash adds new items to the familiar old items, for example, the art. DealDash has an outstanding selection of Custom Art and I see new paintings and metal art added all the time. Some of the first paintings have now gone, so like with any original art, you have to CarpeDiem!

Other categories that adds new and updated items is video games, they are always adding new games and gaming system. Whenever there is something new to the industry, DealDash may offer it. You do have to check the category often on the home page at DealDash. There is a category for “Electronics and Computers”, so if you are in the market for a new gaming system look there often. These are usually special offers and you must use the “Alert Me” button to have DealDash alert you when it comes on the market. Using the “Alert Me” button sets an alarm at DealDash, and they then send you an email when it does come on the market. This feature can be found in the individual auction, when you find an item you like, open the auction and the button is on the bottom of the auction.

Computers are another category where you should check often. They may have last seasons model which is easier to win, but they get the latest and greatest too, you just have to shop the category and you’ll see when they’re going to be scheduled.

The “New Items” category on the DealDash main page is a great place to see a broad view of all the new offerings at DealDash. This is the best place to have DealDash alert you to when it will be available. Sometimes it takes a few weeks for the item to be scheduled, so check often because the new items change all the time. Then they may only offer it 5 times, so keep on top of your “Bookmarks”.

The best thing to take away with from this article, is that DealDash has a nice rotation of great prizes, some of them stick around for awhile, some come and go and new ones are added all the time. Don’t forget to hit your “Bookmark” or set the “Alert Me” button so you can bid on your favorite new items.
