How can we encourage kids to exercise? Many children like to play outside, but in the winter that’s not always an option. Here are some ideas and tips to encourage the kids to get physical.

Do your kids like to go outside and run around and play? Are your kids into sports or love to ride their bikes around the neighborhood? Well, that’s great! However, a big problem nowadays, is kids tend to prefer to stay inside playing video games, watching TV, and avoiding physical exercise. Here are some tips and ideas to get your kids off the couch and out in the fresh air.

What’s the Problem?

When did children stop going outside to play? I remember when I was a kid in the 80’s and 90’s going outside after school to play with the kids in my neighborhood. I had video games at home, and we always had cable, but always preferred to go out and see my friends. I’ve found that the biggest challenge to get the kids outside is to find a good way to motivate the kids to turn off their Xbox Ones and Ipads and do some exercise and sports instead.

How Can We Help the Children?

When trying to find a good solution we need to consider government funding, volunteerism, and fundraising to improve sports facilities and organizations. There have been many studies that show that children who live below the poverty line are significantly heavier and less healthy than children in wealthier neighborhoods. It would be wonderful to be able to offer more playgrounds and exercise facilities that children can use for free so that parents can help their children get the exercise they need without sacrificing their funds that need to be spent elsewhere.

Schools Can Help Fix the Problem

Luckily, schools all offer gym class. In fact, schools already encourage children to do regular exercise, since gym class is a required class. However, being a child once, and having a school-aged child, in my opinion, what actually pushes kids towards sports is peer pressure. Sports can be a wonderful way to connect and find ways to relate to other kids in their school.

In children’s younger years, it’s not uncommon to participate in sports such as baseball, basketball, and soccer just because others do. It can be very rewarding physically as well as socially. They learn how to exercise, form friendships and use teamwork, and create memories together.

DealDash: It’s Tailgate Season!

I absolutely love this time of year in New England, the Autumn is cool and crisp, there is so much to do outdoors, and one of my favorite activities is Tailgating! If I don’t go to the football stadium, I just host the football party. DealDash has great items to help serve up the greatest of events either way.

You can’t even pack the car without packing the cooler first and DealDash has a couple of coolers and you can usually find one on sale at least once a week. They are popular items, and a lot of fun to try and win. I’ve won one, but there is a new Aluminum one that I’m really interested in, go in and check it out!

Every Football party has to have burgers or sliders. You need the BBQ chicken and veggie skewers. It’s all good when you win a grill from DealDash, I’ve won a grill a few times always under $10, my family loves them! They are small, but are perfect for packing in the car.

There are slow cookers to put the beans in and you can even make a baked ziti, it just depends on how warm or cold it is outdoors. I love to bring on the comfort food when it’s chilly. If it’s warm, I’m beans and cole slaw all the way!

DealDash has recognized how popular these items are and have offered a great deal by offering the grill nearly everyday. The coolers vary in offerings. Planning is important at DealDash, but having fun is too, so keep your eye on the ball, literally a football, they are much easier to win and come on the market frequently. They carry a nice variety of sport balls and I see them go for pennies all the time.

DealDash: Average Selling Price of Small Appliances

There are a few items at DealDash that sell for a low closing price and you can get one or more of these small appliances if you play your bids right.

Here are a few tips when considering an item under $200. The first thing you want to do is NOT overbid. If you can avoid it at all don’t overbid, it distracts from winning for a few pennies. When you are a new player at DealDash you may be tempted to overbid on a small appliance, but I can tell you that they sell often for just a few pennies, so why not let that be you!

Here are few average selling prices of auctions which I have won, they are simple and require only a few bids, but you can’t get caught up in a bidding war over an item that should take only 50 bids. don’t let yourself get into one of these battles because you simply don’t have to, you can without a doubt win a toaster with just a few bids. It may take a few tries, and you have to have patience, but it can happen. If you are willing to purchase the item you can BIN the amount of bids, but this article is about winning with just a few bids.

electric coffee pot 24 bids and .65 cents

can opener 12 bids and $1.12

These are just a few of the great deals I have found at DealDash, but I’ve won many more. I love to give the items I win at DealDash to my family and friends and they are alway so surprised at how little the items cost me. Now when I have a gift or an item I give away, they always want to know, “how little did you pay for this?” That’s funny, but the truth is you can’t win them all, so for every item I win I may lose up to 9 more. that is about a 10% win rate. I’m ok with that considering many of my auction I only pop in one bid to come back later, and well, maybe I won’t.

There are many, many items you can win with just a few bids and small appliances are among the greatest of prizes to win easy. If you get into a battle with someone for a small appliance and they just won’t quit, I suggest YOU quit, and go for the next one, if there is one on the market in 10 minutes, I’ve seen it go for less than the one I’m “involved” with . It happens all the time.

Don’t underestimate the power of the “next auction” DealDash has new items on the market every minute of every day, there is always the next one, there is always one that is easier to win. Don ‘t get hung up on one auction, there is a vast number of auctions waiting for you around the clock.
