Bidding on DealDash can be a little confusing sometimes. Here are some tips to use your bids wisely.
When you’re new it’s easy to waste your bids without realizing you’re doing it. A few bids here, a few bids there, before you know it you’re out of bids with nothing to show for it. Your problem was that you didn’t know how to use your bids wisely. DealDash (and I!) don’t want to see that happen to you. Read on for more information about how to use your bids wisely.
Don’t Scatter Your Bids
Some people prefer to scatter their bids, however, when you’re new I don’t think that it’s a good idea. If you want to put 10 bids on every item on the front page you might win something. However, there’s also a fairly good chance that you won’t win anything, and have nothing to show for your bids. If you had, instead, taken those 250 bids and put them all onto one item then you would have a much better chance of winning those items. Not only that, if you have put 250 bids onto one item that you really want to win, and you don’t, then you can always BIN it.
BINning an Auction is Wise
When you want to get the bids back that you placed in an auction, all you have to do is BIN (Buy It Now). This is a very wise way to handle your auctions. When you BIN the auction then you’ll get the bids back that you placed. If you were bidding on something that you wanted to buy anyway, why wouldn’t you spend the money to buy it? Then you can receive all of those sweet bids back to use on a later auction. Now that’s wise!
Get to Know Your Competition
While you might not want to get friendly with the competition, you should get to know them a little bit. Get to know who likes to bid on the same items that you do. Most people have a favorite category that they like to bid in. Find your favorite category, and then hang out and observe the auctions. You will start to see the same avatars and bidding names over and over again. Take note of who seems to drop out early, and who seems to hang in until the BIN price. This will serve you well if you happen to get into an auction with them and you are unsure if you should hang in there a while and bid, or cut your losses and back out. The more informed you are, the wiser decisions you will make when you’re bidding.
