Overbidding is a Strategy at DealDash

The first few months I played at DealDash, I got involved with players who just bid and bid and bid, no matter what the retail price of the item.  They just bid over the value because they can.  I’ve since learned this is a strategy for some players.  You will find this activity, especially when there is a Free Wins Event.  When the final cost of the item is free, many players will come into an auction when you would think that it’s winding down, only to get a “second life”.

What this means is there are players who enter the auction in late, often called “Jumpers” however, I really see it more like “joining” the auction.  If you bid before $5, all is fair in love and war! We are in this to win it, and it seems some will do it to extremes.  So, if the item is valued at $50, and the bidding is up to $55, the auction has most likely taken on a second life, meaning there are new players in the auction who haven’t invested the same amount of bids as a player who joined in the early part of the auction and played the whole game.

Although the retail price may have gone over the value of the item, each player has only as many bids in the auction as their play time.  So, you may have 1000 bids in and another player only 500, you have to decide if you want to stay in or leave until they have used the other 500 bids. It helps to know the competition, you will learn the strategy of the other players, watch the players with long histories at DealDash, they usually make the best decisions, like using Bid Buddy and not stomping on your clock time.

I’ve seen this strategy with gift cards, players will BIN the card, so they will use the BIN amount of bids to win it, and that’s a lot of bids on some cards.  For example, an $800 Walmart Gift Card.  The Buy It Now amount of bids would be calculated like this, 800./.15=5333 bids.  So for me, I’m out, I don’t bid on those big prizes if I don’t have the budget for 5333 bids.

I will over bid on small items, generally under $200 if I won the bids for a DealDash level reward for my Time As High Bidder, or if I’m cashing in on some freebies for positing to Facebook, or if I just won a big bid pack, all ways to get free bids toward your overbidding strategy.

Yes Sir, overbidding is a strategy at DealDash, learn the folks who do it and if you are in an auction, and you’re not sure if this person will continue to overbid, you could just wait for the next one!

Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!

5 Big Ticket Wins in One Week at DealDash

It sure is fun to have an auction site like DealDash where there is no limit on the number of items you can win, the only limit on wins is you can’t win the same item twice in one week, so if you won the iPad Pro already this week, you’ll have to wait until next week to win it again, but you can go for a different iPad, like the mini or a Pro with a different amount of RAM.  You can also go on to win an Xbox One, KitchenAid Stand Mixer, a Ninja Coffee Maker and a dozen or more other prizes if you can, but don’t stop there, you can win as many items as you’d like all the time.

That’s why we don’t worry about winning limits at DealDash anymore, there was a great deal of strategy that surrounded the limits, if you’ve never known limits, you don’t know how lucky you are.  So, what I do now is go for just about any item I think I have enough bids to win, if I don’t I don’t try to win something with nothing.  That’s not to say that I can’t win with nothing, here are a list of items I won in one week, all big ticket items.  I won a handful of smalls too, but this was the boon!

$329 Shoulder Massager, $1.33,  29 bids

$$2162 Original Oil Painting $3.16, 76 bids

$224 Tall Hand Glazed Vase $1.42, 16 bids

$1125 Original Oil Painting, $4.03, 16 bids

$$180 BBQ Grill, $3.95, 109 bids

This is $4020 worth of merchandise that I won for only $13.89 and $36 for bids.  That’s a huge savings!  I did win the smalls, and honestly, I lost quite a few too, keep in mind you can’t win them all, and I’ve been playing for over two years.  It takes time to get this good, but you will while you are getting to know the site and the joy of winning.  Read the blogs on the DealDash Social Media and learn a lot of secrets to help you win.  I write the blogs so my fellow players play better, because if you play better, we all win more!

Bidding on a Budget at DealDash

The first few times you played DealDash, you no doubt won.  It’s quite easy to win, and it’s a lot of fun.  Now you’ve been on the site for a while and suddenly, you are paralyzed with fear, because you don’t want to lose, sound familiar?  Of course it does.

That’s because you may have bid a couple of times and not won, so now you are concerned that you won’t win, but this feeling will go away, and in the meantime, you’ve got to learn how to control your bidding.  Relax, you will win many, many auctions over time.

That means not bidding in too many auctions, stay focused on the items you actually want.  To me, the most important thing about winning is the shopping part.  It’s very important that you go into the site and find the items you really want.  If you bid on items you don’t really need, you may or may not win it.  If you don’t win it, and you don’t want it, you won’t buy it, therefore, you won’t get your bids back for Binning,  and you won’t have your item.   So, it’s really important to conserve bids this way if you are bidding on a budget.

A lot of players will poke one bid into many auctions with the thought of coming back in the end and pouncing on others who have placed hundreds of bids already, but many, many never come back.  They just wasted a bid, and another bid, and another bid.  A sure way to conserve bids is not to poke in one bid, they add up and before you know it, you don’t have any bids, so you can’t get in any auction.

Wait for the initial flurry of players to enter the auction, the beginning of an auction has a lot of quick bids, if you wait until this settles down, you won’t have wasted, not only your bids, but your free Time As High Bidder.  You only want to wait a few bids, and certainly bid if the timer gets down to 9 and no one else has bid, but if there are 8 people bidding in 8 seconds, it’s a mad house!  Wait and save.  Stay Away from “Stompers”, those players who will stomp your bids for TAHB.

Don’t overbid.  It’s the biggest waste of bids to bid more than the Buy It Now price for any item.  DealDash has this great deal, where you buy your item after trying to win it, and they will return your bid you used trying!  That is an incredible deal, then you have your item and your bids back.  So Binning is a great way to bid on a budget.

There are several ways to conserve bids and bid on a budget.  You can make positive decisions, win lots of auctions and have a lot of fun doing it at DealDash!

Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!

New Toys From DealDash

robot-74DealDash has been adding a whole bunch of new items lately, but this time of year I think talking about toys makes a lot of sense. You will be delighted to see all the special items coming on the market.

road-race-set-78Any and all of these items are considered “special” because they don’t come on the market every day.  There are many items that do come on the market every day, and you will learn to know the difference between an every day item and a special item.

hot-wheelsSpecial items at DealDash are usually very popular, and the best way to win them, is to stay completely focused on the one item.  You want the item, and you’re in it to win it.  Stay in it!  This is a good strategy if you can Buy It Now, this is an option offered by DealDash where you can bid on an item and purchase the item to receive your bids used back.  It’s a perfect option for someone who is really shopping, and not just trying to win auctions.

doll-house-146These toys are creative and unusual, you can always find a little something special at DealDash.  These are prizes that you have to plan to win.  By plan, I mean schedule it and show up for the auction.  If it is a rare item, that only comes on the market once a week, you’ll want to be present to get your Bid Buddy set-up.

DealDash provides an “Alert Me” option.  This is a button in the auction. As soon as an item appears in the search bar, choose the alert me button.  They will then send you an email update when the item will be scheduled.  Then you set an alarm and show up for the auction.

bat-mobile-elec-ride-220You can also set a bookmark on DealDash if the item is schedule for in the near future.  The bookmark is on the main page of each auction, it’s a little white star in the right hand corner of the auction.  Click the star, it will turn yellow, and you’ll know it’s set.

So, bookmark your favorite auction,  use the Alert Me tab for those special items, stay focused on one auction, and don’t get involved in too many auctions at once.  And surely, if you don’t win, use your Buy It Now option, you get your item, and your bids back…win-win!
