Tips for Staying Ahead of the DealDash Curve

DEALDASH curve

Staying ahead of the curve can be a tricky thing. That’s why DealDash Tips is here to help you.

Does it seem like someone else is always getting the great deals on DealDash? Sure, you might win some auctions here and there. You might save a few dollars here, or a few dollars there. But it seems like everyone else is getting absolutely amazing bargains, and you aren’t? Maybe they are extra lucky, or perhaps they are doing something differently than you are. Here are some tips from DealDash for staying ahead of the curve when using your favorite bidding site.

Research Like it Matters (because it does)

Doing your research on DealDash is a very important part of staying ahead of the curve. DealDash has new features, promotions, and changes that happen throughout the year. If you want to stay at the top of your DealDash game, then you need to stay informed about what’s going on in and around DealDash. Reading the DealDash Blog as well as DealDash Tips is an excellent way to stay ahead of the curve and keep current on all of the DealDash events and happenings.

Don’t Forget to Take Advantage of Free Bids

DealDash offers so many ways to get free bids on the site. A few of the popular ways are by posting pictures of your wins to Facebook or other social media websites, filling up your bid meter, and by bidding every day. The reason that taking advantage of free bids puts you ahead of the competition is that you will be able to place more bids while spending the same amount of money.

For example, say you are trying to win a $10 gift card. If you haven’t collected any free bids, then you might just place a few bids, say 25, on the gift card. However, if you have recently collected 100 free bids, why not toss theose on the gift card as well? It won’t cost you any extra money, and it will greatly increase your chances at winning the gift card.

Tips for Getting to Know DealDash

DEALDASH TIPS MEET YOU

DealDash is a fairly friendly community, and everyone is welcome. Here are some tips for getting to know DealDash.

Joining a new community can be hard, and sometimes a little bit scary. The unknown can be a little daunting, but don’t worry. DealDash Tips is here to guide you on your journey into getting to know the wonderful community known as DealDash.

Introduce Yourself

After opening an account with DealDash you will be taken to your dashboard. The dashboard is an important part of navigating around DealDash. One of the first things that you will want to do is introduce yourself to the community. How do you accomplish this? You can introduce yourself by posting a short bio on your dashboard. Simply go to Dashboard –> Public Profile –> Edit Bidder Bio. You can add up to 250 characters, which is enough for a few short sentences. Your bio already adds your DealDash start date, along with your home state. You might want to tell the community what your hobbies and interests are, your favorite sports team, or how many grandchildren that you have. It’s up to you, as long as you keep it friendly. No threatening or intimidating bios, please. They will be removed.

Show Yourself to the World

After you have completed your bidder bio, then it’s time to choose or make an avatar. If you are ready to bid and don’t have a real preference what your avatar is, you can simply pick from one of the premade ones. You can do this by navigating yourself to Dashboard –> Public Profile –> Select an Avatar. You can choose from 1 of the 30 premade avatars, or if you scroll a little further down you can upload your own image. Again, please keep it friendly. No threatening or intimidating photos.

App Bio

If you are using the DealDash app instead of using your computer at home, you have a different choice! You can design your own avatar right in the app! You can select skin tone, hair color, and facial expression. It’s a lot of fun, and I made an angry blond girl, just like myself! If you haven’t downloaded the DealDash app yet, it’s free! Just go to either of these links and hit the download button.

DealDash Tips to Conserve Bids

The fewer bids you use to win a DealDash auction, the fewer bids you will have to buy. Therefore, it makes sense to conserve as many bids as possible.

Here is one way to conserve your bids:

After you place your first bid in the auction so you don’t get locked out, just wait and watch. Save the rest of your bids until the auction gets down to the last two players.

Let’s say that it appears you are one of the last three bidders, but you do not know if any other bidders are just “waiting in the wings” before joining the “final fight for the win.” What if other players are simply waiting for you or the other two players to run out of bids?

You can do a test to find out. It is a little risky, but it might be worth the risk. Here’s what you can do.

Cancel your bids. That’s right. I know one of the other two players could win the auction when you leave, but the last two players usually fight it out for a while and this is just a temporary little test. If no other players jump into the auction, you can put your bids back in and continue to play. On the other hand, if any other players are just waiting for you to run out of bids or quit, they will be sure to jump into the auction soon after you leave.

That puts you in the driver’s seat. Now you will be able to save your bids while you watch and wait for the other players to run out of bids. When the auction gets down to only two players again, that’s when you can jump back in and fight for the win.

DealDash Tips: Why not cut the clock?

New players on DealDash.com are usually easy to identify because they often cut the clock and over-bid. Most experienced bidders do not do that because they know better.

The main reason new users cut the clock is because they do not yet know any better. They have not yet learned how to find and use the automated bidder, BidBuddy, and that is why they are bidding the hard way—one bid at a time from the home page.

Once new users learn that by double-clicking the auction, a new window opens where they will find BidBuddy, they will gladly start using it.

Some players might have tried other penny auction shopping sites where beating the clock was a good thing. However, on DealDash beating the clock is a bad thing. Here’s why:

  • Cutting the clock wastes bids and greatly diminishes your chance of winning.
  • Cutting the clock robs other players out of their time on the clock because that is how all players earn free bids (Look for the green at the bottom right of your screen that moves whenever your bid comes up)

DealDash is a friendly and polite community. We play fair and show respect for other players. For your sake and for ours, use the BidBuddy!
