Curiosity did not kill the cat (on DealDash!)

When shopping on DealDash.com one of the most important qualities for successful bidders to have is a strong sense of curiosity.

You might ask, “But didn’t curiosity kill the cat?” My answer: “No.” What we do not know can and does hurt us, so I believe having a strong sense of curiosity is a healthy characteristic, not a bad one. After all, isn’t it because of our natural sense of curiosity that we learn anything in the first place?

I grew up with lots of sayings and my mom had a quote for every situation, but not all of those sayings made sense. Most of them were very helpful, but “curiosity killed the cat” was not one of them. Some of my favorite helpful sayings were:

  • “When the going gets tough, the tough get going!”
  • “Those who row the boat don’t have time to rock it!” and
  • “When you feel like giving up (quitting), remember the giant oak tree. It started out as just a little nut that held its ground.”

Benefits

Many of us started bidding from the home page, but our natural sense of curiosity quickly made us stop and ask questions. Therefore, we soon learned how to find and use BidBuddy, which saved us a lot of bids and frustration.

Yesterday I was shocked to see a customer who joined DealDash in 2012 and that customer was still cutting the clock and wasting bids by bidding from the home page. Perhaps some customers might lack a healthy sense of curiosity. When we are curious, and we see something is not working well, we stop and ask questions. When we ask questions, we get answers.

It will begin at 6 PM Eastern Time. You will see 50 (yes, FIFTY!) auctions begin at one time. This is a great opportunity for you to sneak in and win an item for just a few bids. I’ve won more than a few auctions with less than 10 bids, and many of these occurrences have happened during this particular promo.

Don’t be shy when you first start bidding on DealDash. Sure, it might be a little scary to bid for your first time. However, there is nothing to fear! Everyone is a newbie in the beginning, and you will get the hang of it in no time. Just think, even the most experienced bidders were in their first auction at some point.

Even though people can be competitive on DealDash, many of them are quite kind when they see that you are new. Everyone can see when each person joined DealDash from looking at their Bidder Bio that pops up when you bid. I fondly remember on one of my first auctions a more experienced bidder let me win the auction. I have since passed on the kindness to other bidders when I see that it’s their first couple of days bidding.

Worth a Thousand Words — Set a customer avatar for your profile. I chose a photo of myself but DealDash has plenty of other avatar icons customers can choose.”
