Have You Tried Weighted Blankets Before?

Have you ever shopped for the weighted blanket on DealDash.com?

I’m shopping for one now, and as of this writing, many more will be coming up for auction soon. I especially like the auctions that block all new bidders at 50 cents instead of $5.00. That could mean a  lot less competition. However, all it takes are two determined shoppers to keep it going for a long time, so we have to know when to get out of one auction and get into another one. Shopping in the right auction at the right time can make all the difference between losing or winning.

This gray weighted blanket has a BIN of $315 and measures 48-inches by 72-inches and weighs 16.3-pounds.

I heard about weighted blankets but I never before looked into them. It appears that sleeping with a weighted blanket can have many benefits.

According to the DealDash auction description, it is designed to promote a sense of deep relaxation to help us enjoy a “full restful and restorative night’s sleep.” It has two weighted layers: “two made from poly fiber and the last from 0.8mm glass beads.” It also comes with a “plush velvet quilt cover” with a “silky, soft feeling.” The inner blanket is made of 100 percent soft, durable cotton with 200TC. It also  has an easy-access zipper and 8 ties for easy attachment to the quilt cover so the inner blanket remains in place. The inner blanket should be spot-cleaned only, but the quilt cover is machine washable.

The auction description says, “All three weighted layers are engineered to mimic the feeling of being hugged or tucked in, providing you with an overarching feeling of security. This comfortable pressure offers you an immediate sense of calm, and helps you enter a relaxed state so you can gently drift off to sleep.” That sounds about right to me.

When I was young, I remember that even on really hot nights, I piled on a lot of blankets because it made me feel more safe and secure.  However, because of the weight of t he blanket, it’s “not suitable for children.”

As of this writing, there are only 14 units of this auction left, and this weighted blanket is a fairly popular item. Therefore, if we want it, we better shop for it while we still can.  It’s not surprising that it is such a popular item. After 200 reviews by former winners, this weighted blanket received a high overall rating of 4.86 out of a possible 5.0.

So far, the best deal anyone got on  this item was January 19, when it sold at $1.71 and the winner paid a total of $13.71 including the cost of the 60 bids placed.

A brief history of weighted blankets

Some of the earliest uses of weighted blankets dates back to 1999. According to my research, Tina Champagne, who was an occupational therapist, began using weighted blankets to help some mental-health patients. However, they were originally designed as an aid for Autism and other sensory disorders. Now some people use these weighted blankets to just get a good night’s sleep – especially people with symptoms of restless leg syndrome, fibromyalgia and anxiety. These blankets can help relieve stress for people with ASD and improve their ability to focus with the task at hand.

Sometimes, during cold weather I’ve heard some adults with arthritis complain about feeling stiffness in their joints from the cold. My resources all say weighted blankets can be good for people with arthritis because it keeps the users warm during the night. This prevents stiffness in the joints because it helps the muscles to relax.

Researchers found that when a group of 26 young adults with no previous sleep problems used a weighted blanket at night, their bodies produced more melatonin than when sleeping with a conventional blanket.

Weighted blankets tend to ease people into REM sleep and that is where dreams take place. According to the information I read, that’s good because studies show that dreams are good for us.

The bottom line

It might be a good idea to look up more information about benefits a weighted blanket offers so you know if it might be something you or a family member could use for a better night’s rest. If so, shop for one on DealDash while you still can. See you in the auctions!

This is the “ultimate” diaper bag.  This durable “environmentally-friendly vegan leather bag comes in brown and grey. It’s a perfect size and the many compartments also makes it convenient. The dimensions of this bag are 13 by 13-inches and 5.9 inches in height.

After receiving 53 ratings from previous winners, this bag received rave reviews with an overall rating of 4.89 out of a possible 5.0. That speaks volumes for its high-quality. One previous winner said she gave this diaper bag to her niece at a baby shower and here niece “loves the quality and size of the diaper bag”… because it “Fits all the necessities a new mom and baby need.” For more detailed information about this diaper bag, see the auction description.

A bit of history

In the early 1970s when my sons were born, most babies still wore cloth diapers and many mothers

simply used plastic bags to carry clean diapers and another to have a place to carry the dirty ones.

Disposable diapers were just coming out, but most young mothers on a tight budget only used the disposable diapers when traveling. I believe the first diaper bags came out a few years later. But the diaper bags on DealDash are very useful gifts. So if you just had or will soon have a new grandchild, you might want to give a diaper bag to the child’s mother. A gift like this will be greatly appreciated and it will get plenty of use.

The bottom line

DealDash frequently adds new products, so it’s a good idea to check every day to make sure we do not miss anything.

Happy shopping everyone!

One special feature is t hat Jane the Triceratops comes with a sweet poem to be read to children.

Shop Now – These Items Are Going Going Gone

If you have not been shopping on DealDash.com for a while, I hope you check it out again so you don’t miss out on this exciting liquidation sale.

This means it’s time to eliminate some of the old auction items to make room for some new auction items. It also means that some of these items included in this liquidation sale will soon run out of stock so we will not have the opportunity to shop for them again.

Let’s take a look at some of the auction products we might want to shop for before they are all gone.

Sweatshirts

DealDash now has several men’s and women’s sweatshirts up for auction. They come in various sizes: small, medium, large and extra large. The women’s sweatshirts are pink and are sold only one at a time.  Most of the men’s sweatshirts come in black, but some are gray, and they are auctioned off in singles, doubles and triples.

The women’s sweatshirts received an overall rating of 4.83 out of 5.0. A few former winners described  this sweatshirt as “way to big” and “huge” so we might want to take that into consideration.  If we are looking for an easy win, however, this might be a great auction to bid on because it has been consistently selling at low prices. As of this writing, the last five times this sweatshirt went up for auction it sold at: 89 cents, 77 cents, 13 cents, 30 cents and 26 cents. We couldn’t get better deals than that.

The men’s sweatshirts received an overall rating of 5.0 out of 5.0.  The rating cannot get better than that. All of the reviews on the men’s sweatshirts indicates they absolutely love them. Some previous winners commented that they were nice and warm. The men’s fleece sweatshirts have been consistently selling low, also. The last four times the auction consisted of sets of two sweatshirts sold at:  $1.59; $3.39; $3.14 and $1.84. Now that’s a very good bargain!

Light Fixture (Set of 8)

Part of the DealDash liquidation auctions includes a set of 8 dimmable 3000 K LED Flush Mount Square Puff Lights. This auction  has a BIN of $204.

This auction item also appears to be an easy win. The final bid price in the last five auctions were: 32 cents, $1.61; $7.04; $2.15; and $14.89. Perhaps we could install all new matching light fixtures in our home, or we could keep one or two for ourselves and give the rest away as gifts to family members and/or friends.

These light fixture must be hardwired , and according to the DealDash description they are, “designed to replace outdated round fluorescent flush mount fixtures.”

The dimensions are 13 (L) by 13 (W) by 3/3/5 (H). The voltage is 120, watts is 25 and the lifespan is 35,000 hours. They come with a dimming feature, but they must have a corresponding dimming switch installed. The finish is white.

Above are just a few examples of the exciting liquidation auctions. Not only that, but as of this writing, the winners receive a 75 percent discount from the final cost of the auction, and that’s a huge advantage.

Hope to see you in these auctions!
