DealDash Top Tips Round-Up 10/18

In case you missed it last week, DealDash has a new series called Top Tip Round Up. Today we are going to round up some of the top tips for you from last week. Read on for more info.

Place a Bid before $5 from October 10th’s Blog

Maybe you missed Barbara’s article on October 10th, and the top tip from that blog is to be sure that you place at least 1 bid before the auction reaches $5. This is because DealDash has a $5 No Jumper rule which means that only people who have placed a bid before the auction reaches $5 may participate in the auction. Here’s what Barbara said about the topic:

It might be a good idea to place more than one bid in the beginning of each auction just in case it closes early, but you will save bids by waiting until the auction gets down to the last two or three bidders before you place the bulk of your bids into BidBuddy.

Tips to Winning Your Way on DealDash

Winning is great, but winning your way is even better. Here are some tips to win your way on DealDash.

Are you good at following along with what everyone else is doing, or do you like to do things your own way? Are you less of a follower and more of a leader? If so, then why would you want to win the same way as everyone else? The great thing about DealDash is that you can mostly do things your own way. Read on for more information, from DealDash.

Bid on What You Like

DealDash isn’t like those other bidding sites that have so few things up for bid. There is a ton of selection on DealDash. Just about anything that you can dream, DealDash has it! You can get things like gift cards, computers, home items, kid’s toys, baby supplies, and even shoes and clothing! DealDash has it all, and it’s just up to you to decide what you want to win. No one makes that decision for you, bid on what you like.

Bid How You Like

There aren’t a ton of rules on DealDash – the basic ones are to be respectful of other bidders and no team bidding. There are a few other rules, which you can check out at this link right here. Do you want to do single bids? GO for it! Do you want to use the BidBuddy? Have at it! Maybe a combination of the two? Definitely! You bid how you like. You do you!

Bid When You Want

Did you know that DealDash is open twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week? It’s true! DealDash is open 24/7, even on holidays. When you’re awake, so is DealDash. When you want to bid, you can. If you want to just watch the auctions, that’s okay, too.

Bid or BIN, it’s Up to You

Have you been on other bidding sites where you can only bid? Well, this isn’t the case with DealDash. When you are on DealDash you have the freedom to buy the items that you don’t win and get all of your bids back to use again. If that isn’t bidding your way, I don’t know what is! This is called Buying It Now, or BIN. It’s the smart thing to do.

Skip the In-Season Stuff from October 2nd’s Blog

Maybe you missed October 2nd’s blog, and the top tip from that blog is that if it’s winter, bidding on in-season things such as snow shovels, snow blowers, or other cold-weather items is not the best plan. This is because seasonal items are in top demand, and it will be quite a battle to end up winning. It makes a lot more sense to bid on out of season items because there is less competition. Get to Know Your Dashboard from October 3rd’s Blog

If you missed the Tips blog on October 3rd, it was all about getting to know your DealDash dashboard. There was a lot of interesting information on that article, especially this section about your account details.

Keep, maintain and update the credit cards you use for DealDash purchases here. You can also switch to the old DealDash page design here if you are more comfortable with that layout. Take the Tutorial from October 4th’s Blog

October 4th’s blog suggested that you take the DealDash tutorial. If you haven’t taken it yet, the tutorial is sort of like a game that teaches you how to participate in a DealDash auction. When you take the tutorial it explains what to do, and also shows you what the other (pretend) bidders are doing. You will also receive 10 free bids for participating. Don’t Make This DealDash Mistake Today!

We often give you suggestions on what to DO here on DealDash Tips. Here are some mistakes you will want to avoid on DealDash.

A little DealDash mistake here and there won’t hurt your participation on DealDash. However, if you keep making the same mistakes over and over again it will hurt your success on DealDash. You want to be as successful as possible, right? Of course you do! Every time you get a win on DealDash and you see those fireworks it’s just like Christmas has come early and it’s time to celebrate. You need to minimize your mistakes, read on for more information.

You Have to Have a Plan

Having a plan is a very important part of winning on DealDash. Bidding without a plan is akin to taking a trip without packing! You can certainly minimize any mistakes that you make on DealDash by having a plan along with a backup plan just in case the auction doesn’t go how you have predicted that it will.

Use BIN, it Makes Good Sense

Sometimes we can’t help but make a few mistakes here and there. However, you can completely erase your mistakes by doing a BIN (Buy It Now) on the item that you were bidding on. This is why it’s a smart idea to only bid on things that you’re really interested in owning. This is especially relevant on items that are more expensive such as TVs and other electronics. We all know that these auctions tend to run longer and take more bids to win. Why waste hundreds of bids? Be prepared to Buy It Now if you don’t win, and you’ll never waste your bids because you will get them all back when you buy the item for the retail price.

Bid For Yourself, Don’t Worry About the Other Bidders

It’s a smart idea to try and get to know a bit about the bidding styles of the other bidders that you are competing against. However, when it comes to the actual bidding you shouldn’t be worried about them and what they are doing. They might come in and out of the auction, or they might stay for the long haul and keep feeding their BidBuddies with bid after bid. However, no matter how the other bidders are participating, just worry about yourself. I can’t even tell you how many times I have been too interested in what the other bidders are doing that I ended up getting distracted and losing the auction. Good thing that there’s always BIN as a safety net!
