So you decided to sign up for a DealDash account? Great! There are a few things that you’re going to want to keep in mind as you are exploring the website. Don’t worry, we won’t get into anything too difficult or technical. These are just some DealDash basics. Read on for more information.

BidBuddy, Every Time

New bidders on DealDash might not have heard of the BidBuddy. I’m here to tell you that your BidBuddy is your #1 tool to help you win DealDash auctions. The BidBuddy is just as easy (or even easier!) than placing single bids in an auction. It might sound a little intimidating at first, but you will be very glad that you met the BidBuddy once you start using him to win auctions.

The BidBuddy is on each and every auction that’s held on DealDash. There is no extra charge to use him. Not knowing how to use the BidBuddy is not a problem, you can follow these easy directions:

  1. Choose an auction you would like to win
  2. Find the box in the auction that says “Book a BidBuddy”
  3. Type in the number of bids you choose to spend
  4. Hit Enter

That’s it! When the auction begins the BidBuddy will bid for you. If the auction is already in progress then he will begin immediately.

Search or Browse

If you are just starting out, you might not realize all of the ways that you can find auctions that you would like to participate in. For starters, you can just go to the main DealDash page and see the auctions that are currently in process. If you scroll down to the bottom you will see page numbers that you can scroll through to see what’s coming up next. Next, you can look at the drop-down menu on the main page. It shows all of the different categories on DealDash, in case you’re just looking for a general type of product. Finally, you can type anything you want into the search box, and you will be returned results of auctions that are happening now or in the future.

DealDash Tips: Myths and Facts

DealDash

There are plenty of myths surrounding DealDash. Why not read these myths and facts to get the truth?

DealDash is such a long-running auction platform there has been plenty of time for some myths to develop. Today on DealDash Tips Blog we will look at a few myths and replace them with facts. This article will be an important part of research for you if you are just joining DealDash. Read on for more information.

Does DealDash Cost Money to Join?

A common myth surrounding DealDash is that it costs money to join. This actually isn’t true. It costs money to bid on the auctions, but if you just want to look around it’s free. You can take a look around, see the items up for auction, and many other things without being logged-in or even having a DealDash account, and that’s a fact. If you want to bid, however, you will have to buy the bids.

DealDash

Is DealDash Full of Experienced Bidders?

Another common myth that you might head about DealDash is that it’s full of experienced bidders. This can sound a little intimidating to someone who has never bid in an online auction before. The good news is that this is just a myth. While it’s true that there are experienced bidders, there are also thousands and thousands of newbies as well. There are new members every single day. No matter how inexperienced you are today, you will still have more knowledge and be more experienced than someone who joins tomorrow or next week.

If I lose an Auction Do I lose All of My Bids?

With many pay-to-bid auction sites, yes, you do lose your bids if you lose the auction. However, with DealDash this is actually a myth! If you have bid on an auction and you don’t win you can get all of your bids back if you buy the item at the retail Buy It Now (BIN) price. For example, if you were bidding on a $10 gift card, and you spent 100 bids and still didn’t win you can get your 100 bids returned to you. Simply hit the BIN button, pay the $10 for the gift card, and you will get back your 100 bids. They will even ship it for free!

DealDash Tips to Bid Friendly

DealDash Tips Bid Friendly

DealDash is a friendly place. You don’t need to be the other bidder’s best friend – but it is important that you bid friendly.

Bidding friendly can mean different things to different people, but we’ll just stick with the basics here. Everyone on DealDash is encouraged to be polite and be friendly with the other bidders because we are all one big community. Yes, that community is HUGE, but it’s still a community, and you will run across other bidders frequently, especially if you typically stick to the same bidding categories. Here are some tips for bidding friendly on DealDash.

Start Off Nicely

You’ll want to put your best (polite) foot forward when bidding on DealDash. So be sure that when you register that you pick a friendly or neutral name to be your bidding “handle”. Don’t pick something mean, frightening, or intimidating. This is also the case with your bidder’s bio and your avatar picture. Make sure that all of these things are nice, polite, or neutral. This is a family website, and I know from experience that kids often peer over the grown-up’s shoulders when they are bidding. Please don’t put up any frightening or scary pictures or bidder’s bios. It’s just not nice!

Don’t Be a “Stomper” or a “Jumper”

“Stompers” and “Jumpers” are considered very rude, and definitely not nice. Who in the world are Stompers and Jumpers? When the Stomper bids in an auction, they bid immediately after a person. This is rather rude, most people wait until there are about 2 seconds or so to go – and so does the BidBuddy. The reason that this is considered rude is because this cheats the other people out of their “clock time.”  The Jumper is a bidder who waits until the auction has just about reached the $5 No Jumper limit and places their first bid – it’s especially rude if there are only 2 or 3 people left in the auction. This is rude because the people who have been bidding in the auction all along have used up lots of

The Jumper is a bidder who waits until the auction has just about reached the $5 No Jumper limit and places their first bid – it’s especially rude if there are only 2 or 3 people left in the auction. This is rude because the people who have been bidding in the auction all along have used up lots of bids, and feel that one of them should be the winner instead of someone new who has nothing invested in winning the auction.

Try Not to Get into Stomping Wars

Getting into a stomping war is kind of like being a Stomper times ten. A stomping war is when two people are bidding against each other, and one of them decides that they want the auction to hurry up and finish. They then proceed to stomp on their opponent over and over again. This will work out for them if their opponent is using a BidBuddy and not paying attention, however,  many people who use the BidBuddy (me included!) watch the auctions anyway to monitor how quickly my bids are being used up. If your opponent is watching when you start stomping all over their BidBuddy, well, you’re about to have a stomping war on your hands. Try to avoid this, it really isn’t nice.

Tips for a Great Day on DealDash

DEALDASH great day

Every day is a great day when you’re playing on DealDash. However, there are ways that you can make your great day even better!

How is your day going today? It would be even better if you were on DealDash. DealDash is the place to go when you are having a bad day and need to cheer yourself up. It’s easy to feel cheered up when you are winning amazing things for cheap prices!

Are you winning as many auctions as you could be? I bet that if you were having a bad day today, and you won an auction, even a small one, it would turn your whole attitude around! The object is to get you winning more auctions so you can have a great day with DealDash more often. How can you win more auctions? Read on to get more tips for making it a great day with DealDash.

Don’t Get Discouraged

Have you been bidding in a certain category and not having any luck? Change things around! Bid in a different category. Bid on items that you don’t normally try to win. You can’t progress as a bidder unless you try to do things differently sometimes.

Always Do Your Research

Not only should you be researching the items that you’re bidding on, you should also be doing research on your fellow bidders. Are you going up against a bidder who proudly claims in their bio that they collect art? Maybe going up against them in an art auction isn’t the best plan. Perhaps you could bid on something different, and bid on art the following day. Or even find a different art auction to bid on while the art connoisseur is busy bidding on that particular auction.

Bid Smart, Conserve Bids

Are you wasting your bids? If there’s an auction that you’re seriously interested in winning, then why are you only tossing in a few bids here and there? If you have time, you should wait until there are only a few bidders left in the auction, and then set your BidBuddy up with as many bids as it will take to reach the BIN (Buy It Now) price. If you win, that’s awesome! If you don’t win, at least you know that you gave it your best shot.

Don’t Waste Your Money

Be sure that you’re not wasting your money on expensive bids. Don’t wait until the last moment to buy bids. DealDash has different sale prices each day, be sure that you’re buying on a day that the prices are .14 or less. When the price drops to .14 or less, then buy as big a bid pack as you can with your budget. There’s nothing more frustrating than wanting to bid on an auction, not having any bids, and the bid price is .18 or more.
