We love to share our DealDash knowledge with all of the new (and not so new) DealDash bidders. Read on for a recap of the best tips from last week, from the DealDash Tips Blog.

Minimize Distractions from the February 24th Blog

The theme of February 24th’s blog was all about how to keep your head in the game while bidding on DealDash. The top tip of that blog was to minimize distractions when bidding DealDash. Here is a great tip from that blog:

“ It’s important to minimize distractions. Bidding while older children are in school and younger ones are napping can be a great time.”

If you’d like to read that blog in its entirety, just click this link right here and you can check it out. There are even more suggestions for some ways to keep your head in the game and focused on DealDash.

Remember Your Budget from the February 19th Blog

The blog on February 19th was regarding tips for everyone to keep in mind, in other words, the basics. There were a few excellent tried and true tips in there, but the tip to remember from that blog was to set and stick to a bidding budget. From that blog:

“You’ll need money to buy bids, pay final auction values, and also do any BINs (Buy It Now) that you deem important. Make sure that you stick to your budget, and don’t go over because then you will be short on your bidding budget for the following month.  ”

Happy Birthday DealDash from the February 25th Blog

February 25th’s blog was all about DealDash celebrating their nine year birthday. Theresa wrote about a few different promotions, but the limited wins promo was the most exciting. From the blog:

“With this promotion, bidders can win up to five items per day. This is exciting news as it creates less competition once other bidders reach their limit of five items won each day.”

Go Wild! From the February 26th Blog

February 26th’s blog was filled with some hot DealDash Tips. A helpful suggestion from this article was to go wild and step out of your comfort zone. From the blog:

“Do you ever find yourself stuck in a bit of a rut while you are bidding? Well, maybe it’s time to do some different things. Go bid in a different category, bid on something that you would never have tried to bid on before, or even throw in some bids on a huge bid pack!”

High Dollar and Low Dollar from February 27th’s Blog

February 22nd’s blog was all about the differences in bidding on high or low dollar items on DealDash. Barbara wrote about a few differences, but the big take-away from that article was to pay attention to your budget before bidding. From the blog:

“Bottom line: Before bidding in an auction, we should first look at our budget and number of bids we have, check the retail value of the products, look at the competition and then decide.”

DealDash Tips: Don’t Forget to Bid!

DealDash

Have you ever seen an item on DealDash and thought “I gotta have that!” but then you forget to come back and bid on the item? That is so frustrating! Here are some tips from DealDash to prevent that from happening again.

Picture it, you are browsing around on DealDash and see the perfect item for your home, family, or friend. You think to yourself “I’ll come back later when the bidding is open on this item. Then you walk away and forget about the item. Later you think “Oh no!! I missed that auction!!” I can’t even tell you how many times that has happened to me over the years. It’s a really frustrating experience that doesn’t have to happen to you again! DealDash has implemented a few handy ways that you can prevent this from happening again.

Alerts for the Future

If you have been browsing for something special in an upcoming auction and you spot the item of your dreams it would be a shame to miss out on it. However, if the item isn’t scheduled yet, then you have run into a pickle since you can’t set a BidBuddy for an item that doesn’t have a scheduled start time.

No problem, ladies and gentlemen! DealDash has something called “Alerts” that you can set for the future. You can set an alert for anything in the DealDash product catalog that there isn’t currently an auction scheduled to start soon. Search for anything that you would like or need, and click on the picture when it comes up. If there isn’t an auction scheduled for that item in the near future you will see a little button that says “Alert Me”. Just click that button and DealDash will send you an email when they have scheduled an auction that that item, and then again when it is about to start. I have set alerts for a few things over the years that I ended up with such as my “no touch” stainless garbage can and my automatic cat box. I love the alerts feature because I have a terrible memory!

Bookmarking for the Present

Bookmarking is more for when you are browsing the auctions for the next few hours. If you are on the main page of DealDash you can look ahead for the next 24 hours or so. Bookmarking is so you can remember where an auction is that is starting soon so you don’t need to search for it again. You can bookmark any auctions that you see that have a starting time. If you’re not sure if you want to book a BidBuddy for a particular auction or not, then bookmarking is your next best plan. Simply click the star in the upper right corner, and the auction will be moved to your home page where the active auctions are.

DealDash Tips Get Your Head in the Game

DealDash

Getting your head in the DealDash game is important. If you get distracted you have less of a chance to win. Here are some tips from DealDash to get your head in the game.

No one should be bidding distracted, but that’s just what people do sometimes, and then wonder why they didn’t win the auction. When you are able to get (and keep) your head in the game while you are bidding on DealDash it really increases your chance of snagging a big win! Read these tips on staying focused and enjoy your time bidding on DealDash.

Choose the Best Time for you to Bid

Many people have said that they like to try to bid either late at night or early in the morning to get a good deal. This might be when DealDash has fewer bidders, that’s true, however, if you are unable to focus and stay awake during these times then they really aren’t the best time for you to be bidding, even if there are fewer bidders. So choose the time that works best for you, even if it’s a time when DealDash happens to have more bidders. Let me tell you one thing, you aren’t able to win an auction if you’re falling asleep at the keyboard – unless you booked a BidBuddy, of course.

Minimize Distractions if Possible

If you live in a crazy-busy house like I do with lots of kids and a couple of pets running around, then you know it’s important to minimize distractions. Bidding while older children are in school and younger ones are napping can be a great time. With the warmer weather coming up soon, a great way to minimize distractions might be to send the kids out into the backyard or onto the deck to play with outside toys. I like to keep things like Play-Doh, chalk, and bubbles as outside-only toys. This way the kids are excited to go out on the deck and play with them since it’s not an everyday activity for them.

If You Do End Up Distracted

Sometimes you just can’t help but fall asleep or get distracted while bidding. If you accidentally place too many bids and fall asleep, or you aren’t paying attention and bid way too much, then you have BIN to save you. If you aren’t familiar with BIN, it means “Buy It Now.” If you are bidding in any auction on DealDash and you don’t win, you can purchase the item at retail price and DealDash will give you all the bids back. After you have completed the transaction then DealDash will return your bids as well as give you free shipping on the item.

Be Pampered from the February 17th Blog

The theme of February 17th’s blog was all about the pampering items available on DealDash. The top tip of that blog was a list of some great pampering items that can be won from DealDash. Here is one of my favorite pampering items available from DealDash:

“Bathrobe. DealDash offers a spa-style bathrobe that features a velour exterior and an absorbent terry interior. These bathrobes are up for auction in both white and gray. This is another item that’s great for a man or a woman. They are comfortable, roomy, and extremely high-end.”

Exciting Promos from the February 20th Blog

February 20th’s blog was all about fun promotions that are run periodically on DealDash. Barbara wrote about a few different promotions, but a Mother’s Day one was her favorite. From the blog:

“Another one of my favorite auction features from the past was the Mother’s Day two-for-one special. Winning shoppers not only won the auction product for ourselves, but we also won a second one to gift to our mothers. ”

Birthday Fun for Everyone from the February 21st Blog

February 21st’s blog was all about birthday items that you could win or BIN. There’s something for everyone on DealDash. You have to think carefully about who you are gifting, though. From the blog:

So think about who you’re surprising. Are they a baby or toddler? A child or teenager? A young adult or middle-aged person? An elderly person? There could be some cross-over gifts, for sure, such as gift cards to restaurants, but for the most part, people from these different stages of life probably would appreciate different types of gifts.
