DealDash Tips for Winning Gifts for Teens

DEALDASH gifts for teens

Finding a gift for a teen that they would like can be tricky. Here are some tips from DealDash for gifting to teens.

Maybe the occasion is Valentine’s Day, a birthday, a graduation gift, or something else – teens are difficult to find gifts for. At least gifts that they really enjoy! The good news is that DealDash has many things that are not only perfect for teens, but they will love as well! Read on for some tips for finding gifts for teens.

Boys, Girls, Unisex?

DealDash has some things that are great for guys or girls, and some that would be a great gift for either. The first thing that you’re going to need to determine is if you want to get something that is more gender-specific such as perfume or hair products, tools or cologne, or something like a gift card that’s great for anyone. DealDash has all of these items and more available for bid every day, 24/7.

Age Range

There is a big difference between a child that has just turned 13 and an almost adult who is 19 –  yet they are both teens. You’ll want to take into account the age and maturity of the teen that you are trying to find a gift for. For example, I know many 13, 14, and 15-year-olds who still love playing with Legos (and honestly some adults!) but most of the 16-19 crowd is more interested in computer items, TVs, and other electronics. Luckily, DealDash has both Legos and everything that you need in terms of electronics.

Outdoorsy? Couch Potato?

It would be a bad idea to give a tent or other camping equipment to a teen who thinks “roughing it” includes staying at a hotel that doesn’t include a breakfast buffet. On the flip-side, there are many teens who love sports, the camping, and generally living an outdoor lifestyle.

Just because someone is young doesn’t mean that they don’t know what they enjoy. Look at some of their favorite activities now, and try to find something that complements their tastes. Don’t try to change their interests – it won’t work! Never fear, DealDash has something that both couch potatoes and the outdoorsy folk will enjoy.

DealDash Tips For Using an Air Fryer

screenshot (17)

Eating fried food too often leads to many undesirable health problems such as clogged arteries, joint inflammation, high blood pressure, and obesity. How can you eat the foods that you love without the problems? An air fryer!

Air fryers, also known as oil-less fryers are relatively new on the market, and one of the first places that I saw them available was on DealDash. After doing some research on air fryers, I determined that even though the initial price is a little expensive the health benefits were worth the extra cost. Here are some tips from DealDash about air fryers.

How Do They Work?

Air fryers use something called Rapid Air Technology. This “hot air” can be used to cook any type of food that you normally cook in a deep fryer if you want it to taste delicious, or by baking it if you want it less delicious. This hot air technology works by circulating air to high degrees, up to around 400 degrees.

An air fryer’s cooking chamber radiates heat located very close to the food, cooking it more efficiently and thoroughly. The exhaust fan located above the cooking chamber helps to provide the required airflow from the underside. This allows the heated air to constantly pass through the food. Since the air is constantly circulating, every part of the food receives the same heating temperature.

What Can You Cook In an Air Fryer?

  • Steak – It takes roughly 9 to 10 minutes at 400ºF to cook a  1-inch thick steak to medium-rare
  • Homemade Fries – You can soak the potatoes ahead of time for at least 30 minutes OR you can blanch them for 4 minutes, dry them and have homemade fries in 25 minutes.
  • Fish – For every inch of fish (thickness), cook for 10 minutes on 400ºF.
  • BBQ Sauce coated chicken legs – Brush (any) BBQ sauce over the drumsticks and air fry for 20 minutes, that is 10 minutes at a pre-heated 200°C and then lowered to 150°C and roasted for another 10 minutes.
  • Any Veggies – Depending on the thickness you will need to air fry these 15-25 minutes. You’ll just have to open the air fryer and check on them at 15 minutes then every 5 minutes after.
  • Frozen Foods – You can cook just about any frozen foods in the air fryer as long as they fit into the basket. You can put them directly into the fryer when they’re frozen, but they will take a bit longer to cook.

So you see, you can cook just about anything that you like in the air fryer. This is such a wonderful way to save cooking time, reduce your fat/oil/calorie intake without sacrificing any flavor. When you cook foods in the air fryer they turn out crispy and delicious on the outside, and juicy on the inside. When you get an air fryer from DealDash you’re getting a great deal as well as doing something good for your health at the same time.

MORE DealDash Tips for Expecting Parents

more new baby dealdash

There’s no need to fear, new parent! DealDash is here to give you even more tips on shopping for the new baby.

If you read the last installment of DealDash Tips for Expecting Parents you’ll know that having everything prepared and ready to go for the baby can help ease the stress and worry a little bit. DealDash is here to let you know what else you might need for your new little bundle of joy. Read on for even more shopping tips.

The Baby Needs a Walker

Baby walkers can be a good tool to help your baby get around as long as you use them responsibly. The baby can sit in the walker comfortably and learn how to use their little legs to move around. This strengthens the legs and gets them used to putting a little bit of weight on their feet. Most baby walkers are adjustable. The walker that my baby has adjusts to three different heights. He is 12 months old and has been using it since he was able to sit up by himself.

I mentioned using the baby walker responsibly. Make sure that someone is watching the baby while they are walking around so they don’t pull anything heavy down on top of them or take anything dangerous off of a table while they are scooting around. Also please be careful that there are no stairways that the baby could accidentally roll down – please use them on your ground floor only. Use caution, be safe, and watch your little baby have fun walking around. My older kids love to chase the baby around the house when he is in his walker. DealDash often has baby walkers available for auction.

The Baby Needs a Play Yard

A Pack N’ Play or portable play yard is exactly what you need to put your baby into while you are busy doing chores that would prevent you from keeping a close eye on your baby. The play yard is the new version of the “playpen” from when we were younger. The play yard is smaller and is foldable and extremely portable.

When the baby is a newborn they can use it as a bassinet, when they are small they can use it as a playpen, and when they are bigger you can use it to store all of their toys when they aren’t playing with them.

The play yard is also extremely handy to have when you travel with the baby. All three of my babies spent time sleeping in a Pack N’ Play at some point or another. They are fairly inexpensive and I would suggest getting one. DealDash often has Pack N’ Plays available for auction.

The Baby Needs a Swing/Glider

A baby swing is one of those pieces of baby equipment that you think you might not need – until your baby just won’t stop screaming! If you have a fussy baby sometimes all they need is a nice ride in the swing/glider to make them feel better. My 12-month-old was a very fussy infant and sometimes the swing was the only place he would let me put him instead of carrying or wearing him. The swing was a real back-saver! DealDash often has baby swings available for auction.
