Bid on Full-Priced Days from the May 19th Blog

The theme of May 12th’s blog was surprising tips to use on DealDash. The top tip of that blog was to remember that bidding on free or half-priced auction days might not yield you the best deal. Here is a great tip from that blog:

“Many bidders wait until DealDash is having a sale such as “Free” or “Half Price” auction days to bid. These promotions can get you a great deal monetarily if you win, but the competition is usually much stiffer on these days. So even though it seems counter-intuitive to get a deal, you might want to consider skipping the sales and bidding on full-priced auction days.”

Newbie Mistakes from the May 20th Blog

The blog on May 20th was full of suggestions for new bidders on DealDash. There were some great examples of tips and tricks for new DealDash bidders. From the blog, written by Barbara:

New DealDash shoppers might happen to be in the right auction at the right time and beat all odds by winning. However, most of the time, experienced players will most likely win the high-dollar auctions because they know what it takes to win them.”

Timid Bidder Tips DealDash from the May 21st Blog

The blog on May 21st was an article aimed at the more timid bidders on DealDash. There were quite a few tips that could be helpful, but the top tip is to not wait too long to bid and get locked out of the auction. From the blog:

“Next, you might get locked out. Normally, people are locked out of bidding on auctions at $5, however, there are some days when it’s $3. You’ll know when you sign in and read the main page.”

Search for the Best Auction from the May 23rd Blog

The blog on May 23rd was full of helpful tips for all bidders on DealDash. There were quite a few suggestions, but the best one was to be sure that you are bidding on the best time and day for the auction that you want. Here’s an idea:

“If you see that the very same item that you want is coming up later in the day, or maybe the next day, then take a good, hard look at the statistics on that item. You may find that the one that is coming up for bid now has a tendency to end earlier or later depending on the day that it has been offered in the past.”

Follow These DealDash Tips for All Bidders

There are lots of tips that have been recommended here on the DealDash Tips Blog. Have you been following these important tips?

Okay, I admit it. All tips that have been given here on the blog are not created equal – some of them are much better tips that apply to almost all bidders, and not just a few. These are the tips that all bidders should be following, and should encourage any other bidders that they know to follow them as well. Here are those tips, from DealDash.

Buy Bids During a Great Sale

Here’s another thing that is not always equal – bid prices! Some days you might sign in to the main home page and see that bids are .16. This is a sale that I would personally pass on by unless I really needed bids for a particular auction that was happening that day. However, if you bide your time and be sure to check DealDash every day you can find amazing prices on bids. For example, today bids are just twelve cents! This is a really great sale, and I would stock up on bids if I were you. All bidder heed this tip – buy bids when they are a great price.

Don’t Bid on the Very First Item You Want

This is another tip that applies to all bidders – after you have found an item that you want to bid on, do a search for that item using the search bar on the main page of DealDash. If you see that the very same item that you want is coming up later in the day, or maybe the next day, then take a good, hard look at the statistics on that item. You may find that the one that is coming up for bid now has a tendency to end earlier or later depending on the day that it has been offered in the past. Since DealDash conveniently puts all of the item statistics on each auction page, you can easily take a look and see when it was won before, and how many bids were used as well as the final price of the item.

Tips for Timid Bidders on DealDash

DealDash

As someone who is a bit timid in real life, I have no problem being bold on DealDash. However, I know this is not the case with everyone. Here are some tips for timid bidders on DealDash.

Being timid is not the best way to go on DealDash. Timid bidders don’t seem to win as many auctions, and bidders who are bold risk-takers are usually the big winners. This doesn’t mean that you have to completely change your bidding style, but you could tweak a few things here and there. Read on for some informative tips from DealDash.

Don’t Wait Too Long

If you are a timid bidder who tends to sit and wait for a long time in front of an auction before you actually bid on it, you might want to be a little quicker. There are a few reasons for this tip.

  • Firstly, if you wait too long to place a bid the auction might end before you even get started! I have seen hundreds of auctions end for less than .25, which equals 25 bids from various bidders.
  • Next, you might get locked out. Normally, people are locked out of bidding on auctions at $5, however, there are some days when it’s $3. You’ll know when you sign in and read the main page.
  • Finally, people tend to get very frustrated if they have been doing 1-on-1 bidding for a while and someone new jumps in at the end. When people get frustrated on DealDash they tend to bid more than they were originally planning on, because they don’t want you to win after they have put so many bids into the auction already.

Don’t Be Afraid to Bid Against Veteran Bidders

Being a timid or new bidder can be a bit daunting at times. When you are bidding in an auction you can see when everyone joined DealDash, and some of those dates go all the way back to 2009 when the site was founded. If your date says 2018, I could see why you might feel a bit intimidated. However, I would bid anyway, if I were you. Just because someone has been a long-time bidder doesn’t mean that they are always a big winner. They may or may not be a frequent bidder. If you are a newer bidder who bids a lot, then who knows, you could be even more experienced than they are!

Mistakes New Shoppers Make on DealDash

I have been shopping on DealDash.com since Feb. 8, 2012 and won 756 auctions. I’m sure others have won more auctions than me, but I am a seasoned player and I learned several lessons. One thing I learned is how to avoid making mistakes. Below is a list of some of the most common mistakes many new players make:

  • Bidding on too many auctions at the same time. I know it’s exciting to shop on DealDash, but it is probably a good idea to start out slow until you have gained a little more shopping experience.
  • Not finding and using BidBuddy, the automated bidder. It’s a big mistake to start bidding from the home page. Double click on the auction you want to win and place your bids into BidBuddy because it will save your bids and not use them until they are needed to win.
  • Not being familiar with the screen names of other players. Therefore, not yet being able to identify the power bidders that experienced players try not to compete with in the same auctions.
  • Bidding in high-dollar auctions. New DealDash shoppers might happen to be in the right auction at the right time and beat all odds by winning. However, most of the time, experienced players will most likely win the high-dollar auctions because they know what it takes to win them.
  • Not finding and using the winners list. We can learn who the power-bidders are by frequently checking the winners list.
