Tips to Get the Most Fun from DealDash

DealDash

DealDash is all about having fun! Here are some tips and tricks to get the most fun out of your DealDash experience.

Bidding on DealDash isn’t a chore like slogging through the store can be – it’s a fun and exciting experience that is enjoyable for the whole family. If you’re not having a fun time when you’re bidding on DealDash, then you might not be doing it correctly, so I am here to give you some tips and pointers on how to make your time on DealDash be both fun and rewarding.

Don’t Bid Solo! Get the Family Involved

Now, don’t get me wrong – you have to be an adult to have a DealDash account. However, just because your kids or grandkids can’t bid doesn’t mean that they can’t help you find cool things to bid on. There is a whole category on DealDash that is called “Hobbies, Toys, Outdoors, and Games” – which are all things that kids love! They also might enjoy looking in the “Computers and Electronics” category as well. No matter what your kids enjoy doing, they will be able to find something on DealDash that they will love.

Be Sure That You Use Bookmarking and Alerts

Have you used the search function on DealDash? If you see something that you like that isn’t currently up for bid, then you can set an alert for the item.  Simply click the button that says “Alert me” and DealDash will send you an email when DealDash has scheduled an auction for this item. DealDash will alert you when the auction is starting within a couple of days, and then again when the auction is starting within a couple of hours.

Bookmarking is a handy feature to use if you see something that DealDash has already scheduled to be up for auction. When you look ahead to future auctions that have already been scheduled, you will see a little outline of a star in the upper right corner. If you want to bookmark this auction, then click the star. It will turn yellow, and the auction will be moved to your home screen on the main auction page.

When you use both of these features, bookmarking and alerts, then you can be sure that you never miss an auction that you are really excited about winning! When it comes to thinking about fun, winning things that you truly love definitely tops that list!

Tips for Being in Control of Your Bids

DealDash

Part of DealDash is making sure that you’re in control of your bids and staying within your budget. Here are some tips from DealDash to help.

You wouldn’t pay $100 for a hamburger, so why would you spend 1,000 bids on a small trinket? It’s very important when you have fun on DealDash that you pay attention to what you’re doing and stay within whatever budget that you’ve set for yourself. Sometimes you can lose track of things in the heat of the moment, so here are some ideas to keep you on track and within budget.

Set Your Budget, Set Your BidBuddy

If you know exactly how many bids that you want to spend on a particular auction, then there’s really no need to stick around. That’s what the BidBuddy is for! The BidBuddy is there to bid for you and do exactly as you want him to do. For instance, if it’s a “Free Auction Weekend,’ then you know that it’s safe to bid it up to exactly the retail price so you can BIN (Buy It Now) if you don’t win. So, personally, I would just put in enough bids to reach the BIN price, and then walk away. Because for me, if I stay and watch the auction action, occasionally I get too involved and end up adding more and more and more bids to the BidBuddy! So now, I put in the bids to reach the BIN, and walk away. It works for me.

Keep an Eye on Your Bids While Bidding

If setting the BidBuddy and walking away isn’t really your style or preference, then, by all means, stay and watch! Or even just place single click bids, with DealDash it’s all up to you! However, when you’re bidding, be sure that you keep a very close watch on your bids. Your bids are very easy to watch and keep track of, they are located at the top right of your screen. When you’re placing single bids it’s extremely important to watch your bids. When you use the BidBuddy it’s a lot easier to keep track of them.

Buy Your Bids When They are Cheap!

Saving money is important, and most people like to stick to a budget for the month. So if your budget for bids is $50, great, save it until the bids are .12-.14. If you are ready to buy bids and the price is .17,18,19, then wait! The price of bids fluctuate from day to day, so save your $50 and wait!

How Buy It Now Can Be Your New Best Friend on DealDash

The Customer-Friendly Option of Buy It Now

When DealDash founder William Wolfram was 16 years old, he took part in a penny auction to win an Apple Mac Book. Not only did he soak a good deal of money into the auction, but he also lost that auction to someone else. Through that frustration, a desire to do things a better way—and DealDash—was born.

One of Wolfram’s key components to offering a fair and enjoyable auction site for its customers centered around Wolfram’s addition of a Buy It Now option, which allows customers who lose an auction to earn every single bid they placed in that auction back when they use the Buy It Now to purchase the item at the stated retail price.

Example of How and Why to Use Buy It Now

Kelly is in the marked for a toaster oven and finds one she really likes on DealDash. She bookmarks the auction and sets a reminder to take part when the auction is available. Kelly sets her Bid Buddy for 150 bids and checks in on her bids every now and then to see how she’s doing in the auction. When the auction ends, Kelly discovers someone else won the auction. It would seem the scenario is over for Kelly—her bids are gone and she did not win the auction. But DealDash offers another option—Buy It Now!  The toaster’s retail price on DealDash is $42 so Kelly presses the Buy It Now button, pays the $42 for the item and as a result of using the Buy It now option, Kelly now receives all 150 of the bids she placed in the toaster auction back into her account. It’s really a win-win!! Kelly gets the item she wants at a fair and comparable price and she gets the bids she used in that auction back in her account to bid on another auction.

THREE SMART KEYS TO USING BUY IT NOW

Only Bid on Items You Really Want and Plan to Purchase Anyway

While this is sometimes a difficult rule to stick to on DealDash, it makes life easier when you consider the Buy It Now option. Bidding on items you really want are prepared to purchase anyway make the Buy it Now option a great backup plan.

Consider Prices and Value When Using Buy It Now

Consider the retail price of the items you bid on and the number of bids you place on them before using Buy It Now.  Is the item available to you locally? If not, this creates a great value as many of the items on DealDash are unique and not easily found at local stores.

Gift Cards are a No-Lose Option With Buy It Now

Bidding on gift cards on DealDash can be one of the best and most rewarding wins available on the site. Gift cards are great gifts no matter what the occasion—from birthdays to Christmas—and always offer a “no lose” value when using Buy It Now.  The great thing about gift cards is that you pay the value that’s on the card. If it’s a $10 gift card, you pay $10. There are no added fees—not even for shipping! So any time a customer bids on a gift card and does not win it, the Buy It Now offers the gift card for the face value and the amount you would have paid anyway. The bonus is getting those bids back!

Where to find the Buy It Now Buttons

  • Under the yellow Bid Now button on the auction square on the main page
  • The white bar under the Book a Bid Buddy section within the individual item description
  • Click on My Dashboard at the top right of the main page and look for the blue button to the right of any item you’ve bid on to Buy It Now

Here’s hoping you check out your Buy It Now Options and get back in the auctions with bids back when you Buy It Now.
